Breaking up is hard to do . . .

I lost a lot of weight this weekend. Mostly around my shoulder area.

Best diet tip ever if you wanna lose your shoulder weight is to be released as the Young Women's Prez!

It's amazing how much lighter my shoulders feel, and yet how much heavier my heart feels. (Maybe I should put my heart on a diet.)

Why, why, why would the bishop break up with me like that? After I gave him the best two years of my life?

Do you think he was just using me? For girls camp and youth conference and trek?

"But I don't wanna break up!" I told him. "Please, please, please!" I begged.

He looked at me like he'd never seen a dummy on her hands and knees before. And then finally he spoke.

"We can still be friends."

Friends??

Friends???

Oh, sure, we can be friends, but not friends with benefits! Not girls camp benefits, or Youth Conference benefits, or Trek benefits.

Maybe he just didn't like my leadership approach?

Hee hee

But fer reals, alls I know is Neil Sedaka was spot on. Breaking up stinks!

I'm going to miss my YW peeps somethin' fierce!!!

Fiercer than Tyra!

LY 4 evah YW peeps!

P.S. MUCHOS mahalo to my YW peeps for the flowers and the banana bread and the cards and for saying my hair looked pretty today.

WAAAAAAAAAAH!!

So sad, but yet, kinda nice too. I hope you get to take a little break and weren't released for something bigger and better.

I was just telling Swirl yesterday how I wish I would get called into YW. She says you just can't volunteer for callings in our ward. The bish doesn't dig it. I only have a small window of opportunity when both my girls are in YW and it's now.

I also have another opportunity, so I guess I'm going to take it. I'm switching jobs and going to be an advisor for the School of Business starting in August. It's more hours and since we are building a house it may just come in handy to have more money. That way maybe we could actually buy a stove and fridge for the new house. We are going to pay and arm and leg and our 6th child for this new house and it doesn't include appliances.

The song that's playing is Anyone Else and it says "My name is Adam I'm your biggest fan". It's making me miss my missionary boy.

Aw, I'm so sad for you. I'm just starting to love this calling. I'd be sad if I got released too. Because Girl's camp and YC are the best!!! Maybe they'll call you to be seminary teacher. Wait. They don't do that in Utah. Maybe Youth sunday school teacher.

Eats lots of chocolate and watch some teeny bopper shows. It'll make you feel better.

I've served in YW a few times over the years...and it is ALWAYS the hardest calling to be released from!
The relationships you develop are sacred with those girls and it always feels so wrong to leave that calling.
I agree with your other friends/commenters--I hope you get to catch your breath n' eat some chocolate before you're called to something even bigger n' better!

I know it's sad and you feel you're losing a piece of yourself but it's time to move on to the new phase in your life and I know that Heavenly Father has big plans for you.

I am back from vacation and I have missed you. And every one else. Good luck Martha with your new job and building a house. That sounds kind of overwhelming.

I am very sorry for your loss. Loss is not very fun most of the time, because I bet that weight around your shoulders was not heavy, just like if you were carrying your brother.

Aww Boo! I dislike Change.... I bet the girls were more sad! ..... SO have you already marked the next YW pres as your sworn enemy and thought about all the mean things you want to do to her.. even though she had nothing to do with the decision.... or did she? ..... LOL!

Welcome Back to Relief Society!!!!

Oh yes, I am worried about what's next. Feeling kinda sorta vulnerable.

Leslie, that was exactly what I needed to hear.

Momza, I think you're right, it is the hardest calling to be released from. You feel kinda like you're abandoning your children. They don't understand.

IWa, lol, no the new YW prez is not a sworn enemy. She's the biggest sweetie pie in the world and she'll be great.

Nutty, you are so right, it was kinda like carrying my brother. Or maybe my dog.

Martha, I HOPE YOU GET CALLED into young women's. It would be so much fun for you to be in their with your daughters. Congrats on your new job. That is exciting. Hope you don't have to sell your first born for appliances. I bet you do miss those boys. sniff.

When I was released from seminary I cried like someone died. I knew I would never have relationships like that again in my life.
And I have been right.
But that calling taught me what I needed for this calling...and that is the way it is. Being overwhelmed, learning, growing, getting your knees skinned, getting up, trying again, seeing success and then it's over.
Repeat....
