Hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss

Here I sit with two tears sliding down my cheeks. One on either side of my face, which means one from each eyeball.

They are silent tears, these two, and my face hasn't even moved a muscle. Mostly because I'm watching the Jazz play the Lakers, and for goodness sakes, there's no crying in basketball--at least not in front of my hub and my little cubs.

Technically I'm not crying, I'm sweating. Around the eyeball area. But not because the Jazz are losing, because I just received an email from a friend who had a dream about me.

It's not the first email I've received this week from a friend who had a dream about me. It's the second.

Both dreams were about the same thing and both emails contained specific embedded coded ancient Chinese secrets that neither of my friends could have been privy to.

Only me and the Universe were privy to these secrets.

You know what that means, don't you?

The Universe has been talking behind my back.

Mahalo Mr. Universe!

I feel like the luckiest dummy in the world, and not just because I'm on the tip the Universe's tongue in conversation. There are a million other reasons why.

In order to show my appreciation, I have compiled a list of the top ten things for which I want to stand on tiptoe and hug and kiss the Universe:

1. Macey's now sells seaweed wraps!

2. We have our first Magic Quilt recipient. Click here for details.

3. My daughter gave her 3rd Mother's Day talk in a row, (probably because she hasn't yet learned to make me look good in public.) I predict she'll be speaking again next year because she shared the story about the time I took the family to study nude beaches in Maui, leaving her home alone for a week when she was only 14 years old. (At least that's how she told it over the pulpit. She's definitely a Crash Test Dummy, Jr.)

4. For the first time in 20 years, I got to spend Mother's Day with my cutie patootie mom.

5. AND my stinkin' cute Gigi.

6. I also got to spend Mother's Day with all of my siblings. And their wives. And their kids. And my favorite auntie Carol.

If I had to give you a family map, it might look something like this:

7. I finally got to host a family party, and all because my yard ROCKS! (Technically, it's my sister's yard, but her casa es mi casa, (and SERIOUSLY, everything I have that rocks is a hand-me-down from my sister!))

8. Brandon Sanderson sat next to me at church. And my 13 year old nephew recognized him. And now I'm his favorite aunt!

9. A good friend of mine (who goes by The Mom in blogland) brought me some Japanese rice crackers all the way from Hawaii.

And finally . . .

10. Did I mention that we have a new puppy?

And did I mention that she's the most perfect puppy in the history of the world!!!?

Today my hub came home from work and gave her a kiss on the mouth. That's how good she is!

She's so chillaxed. And gentle. And she sparks all kinds of new vocabulary in our household. Words we've never said before, like "Ohhowcute," and "she'ssodarnadorablefunnyprecious" come spontaneously tumbling from our mouths.

Get this: she goes to her kennel and puts herself to bed at night and down for naps during the day, and she doesn't do her bizness in the house, or bark during the night, or whine, or jump up on company, or lick our faces, or leave the yard, or go upstairs, or jump on the couch.

And she lubs her bath.

I lub her bath too.

I know it's hard to tell because I have such a struggle showing my emotions, but I just lub my puppy so darn much!!!!!!

The thing about two friends having dreams about you - very cool and creepy! They weren't scary dreams, were they?!

I love how you label your brother "apostate brother"! You guys must have a great relationship and a wicked sense of humor (which we all know you have) to get away with that!

Your Lulu is so adorable and she sounds like a Hawaiian dog since she has the whole chillax thing going on. Our dog is more like a German or New Yorker since he likes to bark at you until he gets to know you.

A very touching post, Debbie. I too have an apostate brother. My family is the most importanr thing I have, as well is yours. LU

The Oldboatguy, Oldcarnut, or just the oldfart. Hee Hee

Our dog hates to have a bath--just hates it. In order to make sure we are clear on that point, she pees on the carpet within an hour or two of being released from her version of hell. She doesn't do it right away anymore--she waits until we think we are no longer expecting it. If I knew dogs were so smart I think I would have skipped it. BUT she does kiss on the mouth which is why we let her out on a leash after carefully sweeping away the results of any her previous jobs--dogs do so love to eat their poo. (How wonderful about the dreams. And the friends. And the family stuff. Oh, heck, and the dog, too!)

YOU HAVE 5 BROTHERS!!!!!! Oh my! I have 0 brothers. What a wonderful Mother's Day, and I love the doggie pictures! But like children they to grow up! But what a wonderful dog to not jump on people or do the business on the floor! Lucky Girl!!

I love your puppy.......I had a Golden a few years ago, and he was the best dog ever. No dog will ever love you more.
I was a tiny bit jealous of your post. I want a puppy now!!

See it is days like this that you left Hawaii for, and put up with all the snow and other Utarded things. Family and a dog make it all seem worth it.

Hooray for you.

Will we ever get to hear about the dreams? Or is it too sacred?

Nothing is cuter than puppies!!!! well babies are pretty cute too. so babies and puppies there is nothing cuter than that. love the pictures :)

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Nutty, you are so right! AMEN! I will tell about the dreams someday. I don't want to jinx anything by talking behind the Universe's back just yet. ;)

But Alyson, no they weren't scary dreams, they were goooooood dreams. And startlingly similar. and exactly what I needed.

They made me realize that the Universe is always looking out for us and trying to communicate with us. If they can't get through to us directly, there are alternate routes.

I thought everyone knew I had 5 brothers, but I probly never mentioned it, huh?

OMGOSH Iwa, really? Magic? That's a chicken skin moment. Especially with the verifier saying Imabless. My verifier says testif. I will add the y myself and testify that good things are coming!

Heidi, that is so funny. They are smart, aren't they? And I noticed the pooh thing too. ha ha ha

Old Boat Guy, hee hee Thanks.

Living the Scream. hahahahaha what a funny title. You are so right. I feel like a have a new baby. Only easier. And harder. Soooooo fun.

I know I'm in the honeymoon phase, but it's been a while since I've been on a honeymoon, so I'm going to smile while I can.

I'm glad you are getting some of the benefits of living in Utah--the family proximity which makes this possible. Love the puppy. WIsh he could give my kids lessons on some things.
And, huge LOL about the nude beaches.

I didn't know people with stone cold hearts were capable of owning puppies.

My wife used to say "it's not a ___, it's a puppy" until we got a puppy, then it seemed a bit strange to say "it's not a puppy, it's a puppy"

Our dog strangely likes baths as well. In fact on hot days you can see him sleeping in the bathtub. Then there are those times when he wants to tell us he's thirsty and starts lapping away at the bathtub faucet.

Glad to know your eyeballs are still getting a good workout,

Ah Crash, how awesome to be on the Universes tongue....(hope you don't get spit out like that fingernail you chewed off)

It looks like moving to Cutard was a very good thing cuz you can be with your roadmap fam and you can appreciate Macys seaweed stuff. (pardon me while I pull a face)

The dog is so darncuteandsnugglylookingandhasthecutesteyeseverahhhhhhkisskiss.

Lub you.

I wrote a comment an hour ago and it's not here. Where did it go?

Anyway what I said was that I thought the puppy for for the twins, but it looks like it's for you. Lulu is great company when the kids are in school. Start teaching her how to do chores and pick up things. I always wished we had taught Falcor how to retrieve tennis balls and then have him put them back in the hopper. He's 8 now, so I think it's a little late for him, but not for Lulu.

That is great that you got to host a family party at your house. How did you get everyone together?

Next Monday I head to Indiana to see most of my fam. My mom comes home from the hospital today!! She has new meds that are better.

There I am! And you made me look skinny! LOL

I have a very special "universe talking to me through someone else" story too. Isn't that neat when that happens? He never forgets us, just sometimes we have so much sad in our ears we can't hear Him.

I liked your whole list.

TisforTonya said...

all that good stuff I wanted to comment on every single thing on your list... but then BRANDON SANDERSON popped up... and I got a little jealous... are you going to take sneaky pictures like with Jack Johnson for me??? Okay - so my sister got to meet him, and now you got to meet him... and I'm just stuck reading still??? That's okay - but once he's all done with the Eye of the World junk I'm going to come and stalk him a little... but just a little.

Even from a distance I see the striking resemblance in your face and your mom's. So that makes you a cutie patootie too!

Was I one of the dreamers? Cuz I'm pretty sure I was...

Life is all about relationships, just like this post.

And if I could eat up that puppy I totally would I'm thinkin' I need another puppy but it makes my husband kinda think he needs' another wife. So that's as far as the discussion goes.

Sigh.

Wow. Stream of consciousness punctuation going on in my last comment. Time to go to bed, methinks.

Susan said...

Your puppy sounds great. We always get puppies to tear out the flowers in the flower bed, or bite people's ankles, or pee on the carpet. But guess what? We've had a great week, too. My hubby graduates as a Doctor of Veterinary medicine this Saturday, he passed his boards, and my daughter (who is very mellow) kicked the winning goal during her soccer game last night! It's good to know someone else is having as much fun as me.

Susan said...

I meant, puppies THAT tear out the flowers. So bad at proofing my comments and I type to fast to write what I'm actually thinking.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Susan, punctuation is exempt in comment boxes and texts. That's my rule. YAY for your mellow daughter kicking the winning goal and for your hub passing his boards.

By the way, my puppy doesn't tear out the flower beds. That's how perfect she is. hee hee

DeNae, YES, you were one of my dreamers. Thanks for being so in-tune. I lub it when you pull a Faulkner in my comment box, but my verifier says tersy so it looks like it's on to you.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

T, are you serious? Wow! That's awesome. I'm going to get pics. And I'm going to get him to donate a t-shirt for The Magic Quilt. And someday I'll introduce you. Seriously, we'll do a BBQ.

The Mom, LOL. Your son couldn't make us look skinny so I had to use some special effects. ha ha. Sooooo true about the sad in our ears. I need to clean my earwax out I guess. It is awesome when the Universe gives you a little poke.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Kazzy, ;) I can see myself turning into my mom already.

Martha, how is your mom? I'm excited you get to go see her. Please give her my aloha! I miss her. I missed seeing her this year. She's a cutie patootie too. That's a good idea about teaching Lulu to do chores. ha ha ha We'll try to tennis ball trick. She is soooooooooooooo cute and fun. She would have had a ball at the townhouses. Technically she belongs to the boys since they paid for her, but I'm a good nanny. How is your house coming?

Braden, I need to give you links to my Maui posts. The nudity was a big hit. It was back in Dec 08.

Barb, me neither!!!! But it's amazing what you can do with a stone-cold heart.

Garden, LUB YOU TOO!

Cajoh, that is sooo darn cute! I hope my puppy does that.
