Cooking-off, all ladylike.

Now that I've broken my silence about my Sponge Bob ward, can I just say that I don't lub being the YW Prez! Responsibility makes me itchy, as does bossing people around, Sunday morning meetings, and pretending to be a good example.

That being said, I lub being the YW Prez.

But only because I lub my girlz. And I LUB my YW leaders and advisors. I actually look forward to my board meetings in the secret room off the stage. Something about that secret room makes us feel like we're having a slumber party and we giggle so much it almost feels like we're breaking the sabbath.

My Laurel advisors are da bombdiggity!

Do you want to meet them?

This is Marie and Jamie. (Jamie had her first kiss (to her current hub) in my basement (when she was a teenager). (I think it was just a peck on the cheek).

Could we be sistahs, or what?

These photos were taken at the Laurel/Priest cook-off last week.

The priests are competitive.  And hungry.  But the laurels kicked booty!

I forced the priests at gunpoint to wear my IKEA apron.  (hee hee hee)

I forced the Laurels at gunpoint too.  (hee hee)  This is Isabel. She's my favorite.

After Mariah.

Mariah is my favorite.

I mean Brianne is my favorite.

Marie, you don't scare me with that spatula! And no, you're not my favorite.

Jessica is my favorite.

After Jenny.  Jenny is my fav fav favorite.

She knows how to make a dainty burger.

Can you see why the laurels kicked booty?

We know how to cook-off like ladies!

Avocados on meat. That's sacriligious!

I can tell you really hate your calling. Give me your bishop's phone number and I'll tell him you need to be the Relief Society Prez cause you need to learn to have a cook off.

I have a feeling Mariah would be my favorite. I can tell by her smile---we'd be tight.

serving in yw is like a tale of two cities, it truly is the best of times and the worst of time. hooray for you.

And I am not hungry because I am eating Panda Express food.

I really enjoyed my service in YW too. I always wondered if it was especially fun to me because I have no daughters. My fave? Laughing my guts out at camp, in the tent, at 2 am.

Oh, I was YW president once. I lasted about a year. I'm not kidding.

Was this some kind of torture making them cook off in the cold? They all look like they are freezing - must be Spring in Utah!! :P

Susan, I'm hoping to last a year. :) I've only been in for 6 months.

Val, tamn straight it's Spring in Utah. I was so patient through winter. I didn't complain at all. When my daughter started complaining halfway through March, I told her "two more weeks until Spring and it will warm up."

March was moody, but spring is schizophrenic. Hey, are we going to IKEA will Jillybean this week?

Kazzy, I can't wait to laugh my guts out at 2 a.m. You probably just lubbed YW because you're so cool like that.

Nutty, ha ha ha You are always so right on! Tale of Two Cities. That is CLASSIC!!!!

OBG, You and cfoxes must be pregnant if those photos make you hungry. ;)

Garden, hee hee hee Don't tell me you're going to turn me into the proper authorities too. Please just keep the secret room off the stage on the down low.

Katie, I need to get you in the YW with me.

Barb, I think you're right; you and Marian would be tight.

I am so glad that the rising generation knows how to cook on a grill and be simultaneously ladylike.

Wow, you have priests that go to activities? In our ward priests don't exist. Josh hasn't been to YM since he got his eagle because nobody goes and the leaders don't either. If they had food like that they might all think differently.

If you ever need a buddy, I am the relief society president...something I never thought I would be, since I am the one in charge of coups and insurrections. Not in charge of people! After people get over their shock at my calling, they just watch me...in amazement....so if you ever need a friend...

hee hee Donna. It's fun to read comments like that while looking at your Queen profile pic. High Five.

Martha, will you be in the same ward when you move?

Braden, so glad someone appreciates the subtleties of teaching practical, yet edgy charm and grace to the youngsters.

Hey my verifier is telling me to be a fish.

It's after midnight as I'm reading this, and I must say that food looks Yum-Me! I need to go to bed before I get tempted to drive around the block and pick up a hamburger.
