Hachi and Cubworld (and Lulu, as an afterthought.)

My twins were late for school today.

It was all my mom's fault. If she hadn't brought over that darn dog movie called Hachi and forced us at gunpoint to watch it because it was sooooo cute, we wouldn't have been glued to the t.v. bawling our brains out at 9:05 a.m.

She was right, it was soooooo cute, in that take-a-jack-hammer-to-your-stone-cold-heart kinda way. In fact, if cute means it will make you bawl your brains out first thing in the morning, it is quite possibly the cutest movie ever made.

Fer reals, my eyeballs weren't just sweating profusely, they were sweating profusely OUT LOUD. (As were my offspring's eyeballs.)

I even burst into tears when I retold the story to my daughter. And again when I retold the story to my hub.

Being as I'm a new dog owner, you'd think my mom would know better than to force me at gunpoint to watch a true story about a dog who waits at the train station for 10 years for his deceased master to return from work.

BTW, the snow melted and the sun made an appearance today. Thanks for asking.

(BTW, don't you just hate people who can only converse about the weather and their pets? Me too.)

(BTW, what in the world did I talk about before I moved to Utah and got a dog?)

Okay, new topic. Let's talk about who came to dinner on Sunday.

Let's talk about Cubworld. If you don't know who Cubworld is Click here to read my Today is Cubworld Day post. Cubworld is a fabulous dinner guest, not only because he's famous and talented, but also because:

1.) His wife is the world's fastest, most enthusiastic, yet graceful french braider in the history of the world.

2.) His kids eat plenty rice. (I left the preposition out on purpose because we don't use them in Hawaii.)

3.) He contributed not one, but TWO t-shirts for the magic t-shirt quilt.

Coolio! I KNOW!!!!

Here is Cubworld with his adorable wife, Mandy. She's the kind of girl you could hang with for weeks without wanting to poke her eyes out. The fact that she's a Twi-hard (learned that vocab word from my mom yesterday) and I'm a Twi-soft, didn't interfere with our instant bonding at all.

I told my daughter that I was immensely proud that she didn't spill the beans about the fact that she burned her copy of Twilight, and she told me that she liked Mandy so much that she didn't feel the need to insult her.

Baby steps!

So Mandy is throwing a rockin' Eclipse partay for the opening on June 29th, and Cubworld will be playing!  I bet we could get him to dress up like Edward if we begged and flirted.  Or maybe we could get him to take off his shirt and play Jacob. Mandy is team Jacob anyway.  And his name is Jacob anyway.

Do you want me to ask if I can invite you all to the partay?

Anyways, MAHALO Cubworld for donating our first magic t-shirt!!

BTW, I'm hosting a contest beginning June 1st over at The Magic Quilt. What should the prize be? Raise your hand if you vote Jack Johnson tickets?  He's coming to Salt Lake in August, you know.

All the deets will be posted on The Magic Quilt site soon as I get the site remodeled. Please don't come over until I get it cleaned and organized k! I promise I'll invite you to the open house, (as long as you bring a site warming gift.)

BTW, Guess what I did? I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of fabric swatches for the next magic quilt. Those swatches are so darn cheap. I'll show all of them darn cheap swatches to you at the open house. If anyone else has swatches or t-shirts to donate, please email me and I'll hook you up with the address.

All the instructions will be posted at the open house very very very very shorty.

OH, and HEY, BTW, if any of you are going to the Casual Blogger's Conference on Friday, please come say ALOHA to me. ALOHA will get you an extra chance to win the JJ tickets. HANG LOOSE or SHAKA will get you two extra chances. Mahalo Humuhumunukunukuapua'a Kamehameha Nui Loa will get you three.

But seriously, bring a swatch of fabric to the conference. Or a t-shirt. And I will bring my camera and a permanent marker.

So do you guys want to hear some more about my cute dog, Lulu? OMGOSH, she is soooo soft and snuggly. And she's getting soooo big.  I have tons of photos to prove it. Thankfully she still let's me carry her around like a baby and say, "I lubs you Lulu" in my goo-goo ga-ga voice over and over and over and over and over.

Ah oh, I see your eyes glazing over.

I can take a hint.

Oh wells, I need to hit the sack anyways. (Can you tell that it's late and that my eyeballs are burning and puffy from their workout this morning?)

G'night everybody!

Wow, you know more famous people???? Please remember the "little people" when you get all famous and stuff.

I can't believe you will attend a Twilight party. I want photographic evidence. Seriously.

I look forward to Shaka yo hand (or whatever that means) at the CBC. Can I have your autograph? I'm collecting them.

Haven't seen the movie you were forced to watch at gunpoint...I think I would be afraid to now. Thanks for the review.

You are awesome. Guess what I'm doing? I'm proctoring a math exam. I'm watching poor little 14 year olds sweat and stress and wiggle like worms on an algebra hook. Poor kids. Just thought I'd throw that in there for the English teacher in you. Have fun at CBC. And if you see Motherboard please tell her that what you read on my blog sort of tipped the balance for you to go.

I'm so glad you have a Lulu and that you're famous and using your fame and friends to do good deeds.

I'll going to tell Cubworlds mom (since she works at the front desk) to check out your blog so she can see pics of her talented son.

I'm home and my eyes are super glazed over. I am past jet lagged. Why did Indiana have to change to Eastern time. Now they are 6 hrs. different. Anyway I am home and the house is a mess and my hub is freaking out. What would they do without me.

I just kicked Josh out the door to go get a JOB since their school ended yesterday. What is he thinking relaxing like that?

Sadly, I won't see you at CBC - I'm pretty sure I'm the only Utahn not going :( Can I give you a Shaka Zulu at IKEA next week?

So I say all non-attenders meet here in Crash's box Friday and Saturday...we'll have a par-tay of our own...you in?

(yes, I'm well aware I jacked your box for my own purposes - sorry, kind of :)

Yes, Val, par-tay all you want and I'll meet you guys here Friday night with some Mountain Dew. And YES, let's do Shaka Zulu (whatever that means) at IKEA next week. How about Tuesday? OR wait, Wednesday's even better. My daughter and her two friends from Hawaii could come and eat chocolate cake (at a different table). ;)

Ha ha ha ha ha Martha, I lub it that you kicked Josh out of the house until he gets a job. Poor thing, all jet lagged and having to deal with a messy house and a cranky hub too.

Amber, can't wait to see you too.

Amanda, you cutie patootie, I'm not famous yet, but thanks.

Braden, ha ha ha I lub that you are making your students suffer while you're blogging your brains out. ha ha ha I used to do that too. I will definitely give you credit to Motherboard. I can't wait to meet her. It's going to be sooo weird.

Garden, I can't believe it either. I'm only doing it for my mom. She's a Twi-hard. Sorry, mom. Cat's outta the bag.

Hey, my verifier says Lowintho. Too bad Low hasn't dropped by for a while. Maybe it's because she's in tho.

I'm going to Jack Johnson in October. Yay! I'll have to tell you a funny but highly not blog appropriate story about a song my husband wrote concerning Jack Johnson.
