Pioneer or Princess

Well, I'm back from Trek and I didn't get struck by lightening, but got struck by something worse. The pioneer spirit.

UGH!

Never thought I'd say this, but I wanna be a pioneer. Sooooo frickin' bad! Seriously, I do. Trek ROCKED my world.

I recorded it all in my trek diary, along with photographic evidence that will make you wanna be a pioneer sooooo frickin' bad too, but I'll have to publish it tomorrow because today I'm too excited to discuss my pioneer envy.

I'm excited to announce the winner of my Magic Quilt Jack Johnson give-a-way.

The lucky duck who won two tickets to go to the Jack Johnson concert (with moi) is . . . drumroll, please . . . Amanda from What's For Dinner. Congratulations Amanda! Soooo excited to meet her and sit by her and squeal with her like little teenagers while we watch Jack Johnson turn things upside down.

Soooo excited to see JJ again. Especially since the concert falls on Friday the 13th--my favorite day of the year. Do you think he did that on purpose? I wonder sometimes. I wonder about other things too, like do you think JJ will be wearing his Eagle power underwear to the concert?

Hmmmm . . .

I'm excited about other things too, besides JJ and his Eagle powers. Tomorrow morning I get to meet the first recipients of the Magic Quilt, Stan and Lila. (You can witness them receiving the quilt on my Magic Quilt blog.) Can't wait to give them both a big CTD hug.

I'm also excited because Lulu no longer has an eating disorder. WOOHOO!! I cured her, thank you very much. As long as I feed her out of the palm of my hands she'll eat ANYTHING, including dog food.

Now that I've got her eating out of the palm of my hand, my daughter says she's a princess.

I beg to differ though, because she'll eat anything off the ground too!

It's just her bowl she refuses to eat from.

P.S. BTW, For the record, now that I'm back from trek, I also want Lulu to be a pioneer soooooo frickin' bad.

Lulu's growing into her nose! And I've decided that the best thing I could do to honor my pioneer ancestors' sacrifice is to enjoy the benefits of having been born 100 years later, e.g. AFTER the invention of air conditioning, cars, and Diet Coke.

Ha! Dare you to read that comment before me! Most folks come back from trek and are gald they weren't pioneers! Good for you! Love the doggie princess. Can't let my dog see that, then he will know he is under privledged!

glad you survived Trek - we're two years away from our stake going and I'm torn... do I want M.O.T.H. to still be in the YW leadership so we get to go? or do I want it all to change so I don't have to go???

I'm leaning toward wanting to go, just to say I did it... maybe.

Man, I DO suck at decision making :)

Oh my goodness, T, I hear you. I was so stressed about going, but GO! It is amazing. Maybe the most amazing thing I've ever done. It ranks up there pretty high on the list.

See Mom, I translated it. It says:

The survival is unceasingly in the innermost feelings and the soul battle; The writing is sits places on trial itself.

That is pretty deep. I think.

DeNae, imagine no diet coke for three days! Nor make up, flat irons, bath and body works Cherry Blossom lotion and mirrors. What a weird sensation to have to trust your hands to fix your hair without any guidance from your eyeballs.

IT WAS AWESOME! Seriously!

I am excited to see the evidence of your pioneerness!
I bet you were the Belle of the plains and stuff.
Glad to see that your Ancient Chinese Secrets are posting. I don't know how you would be able to get through a day without their direction.

Lulu does look like a pioneer dog.

Darn, DeNae said what I wanted to say. I think that the best way for me to honor them is to do not do voluntarily what they probably hated every minute of!

Lulu so looks like a princess. I love that. So she is finicky about her bowl? Get a new bowl.

Lulu looks so cute with her crown on!
I used to put makeup on our dog. It didn't make her look cute, but it did really irritate my brother.

(Word of advice, don't ever try to put lipstick on a dog)
