Now can I get an ahem?

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! I was going through some old boxes this weekend in an effort to get organized, and I came across my old high school English class journals. Remember those journals? How the teacher would give you a topic and you'd write about it for 10 minutes at the beginning of class?

Since my last post was about the lost art of kissing, I thought it appropriate to share an entry I found from Valentines Day when I was 16 years old.

The topic was love, and while you may not hear the voice of a future English teacher, you will definitely hear the voice of experience:

Kissing is what I want to write about today. Kissing can be one of the funnest things in the world, but it can also be obnoxious. I think it's only fun to kiss someone if you are mega attracted to them. And if you only kiss them for a little while--like a minute or so--because it seems like you would get bored of it after a long make-out session. Plus something might accidentally come next.

I think love is great, but it's not so great during the hard times. It is always better after the hard times are over. The funnest part about love is the beginning part when you can't think of anything else except that person, and you're always kind of nervous around that person. It's exciting, but that's another time when kissing can be obnoxious because it's hard to get over the obstacle of that first kiss.

No wonder I never graduated from seminary!

hmmmm... has your T gotten a chance to read that, because I'm sure she's going to get a HUGE kick out of your 16 year old self...

my 16 year old self totally agreed about the boring long make-out sessions... that's my story and I'm sticking to it. (but you may not want to ask any guys named Eric, or... )

Well, you truly have made kissing and the topic thereof "praiseworthy and you speak of those things"

It seems as though kissing has been on your mind for a long time.
CONGRATULATIONS!
I hope you are all puckered up and ready to practice what you preach on Valentine's Day.

I don't understand though, how could you not graduate from Seminary and THEN go to graduate school?

Oh oh my verification word:
lumbled
Is that a type of kissing?

Well yes, so there is definitely hope for some of my children who may or may not managed to graduate from seminary. Good to know. Notice how that is what I took away from the post.

I kept thinking of you and your peeps who are big Steelers fans. Am I remembering that right? Was there sadness at your house? Sorry about that. There is something to be said for giving it your all and and never giving up and that still not quite being enough.

and just be careful who you kiss because you may end up obnoxiously kissing your future brother-in-law.

that is my word of wisdom

hahahahahahahahahahaha I am rolling about this notion, Kute Kasey. That is something I never considered. I guess I didn't get that far around the block.

Hahahahhahah LOLOLOLOL That thought is still cracking me up.

Nutty, yes, you remember correctly. The house was solemn last night after the Superbowl. I think they lost because my son didn't pray publicly in primary for them to win. hee hee Although he did wear his Steelers sweat shirt to collect fast offerings.

Garden, you are so funny. I lub your comments. Maybe I won't even get into grad school, being that I'm applying to BYU. Once they find out I didn't graduate from seminary. Or maybe I did graduate. I can't remember.

T, ha ha hahaha about not asking any boys named Eric or . . . In fact my 16 year old doesn't really get a kick out of my 16 year old self. She finds me rather embarrassing. Her 16 year old self is like 18 and mine was more like 14.

LOL. You crack me up! Are you letting your daughter live by these principles? :)

Kazzy, LOL, I wish. My daughter is still VL.

Touche, Dolly! TOUCHE!

Another thing I have in common with you. I didn't graduate from seminary either and it was because of obnoxious kissing.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

ha ha Dolly. Could it also have been because of obnoxious seminary teachers?

My good friend had a boyfriend who had a cute brother. Well one night he tried to corner me in the courtyard of the McKay building. I'm glad that since I wasn't too interested in him, that I only gave him a peck, because I still see him around campus all the time.
