The Ghost of Easter Past

Remember last Easter? How I put raw fruit and vegetables in my kids Easter eggs?

Not to mention packets of specialty sauces . . .

I found one of those carrot sticks from 365 days ago while I filling their plastic eggs yesterday.

Three words: Ewwww! Ewwwwww!! Ewwwwwwwww!!!

No photographic evidence available on account you might heave up all your Easter accessories.

I just can't believe they didn't eat it. There are so many starving Easter Bunnies in Africa.

P.S. I'm not really here. hee hee. I'm on spring break, which means we're still waiting for the sun to turn on, so we're taking matters into our own hands. Probably swimming or playing tennis at this very moment. Or taking a nap. Or reading some book-on-tape.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

just adding my Ewwww to the event.

and being a little bit glad that I didn't follow through with my threats of doing the raw veggies thing this year.

My boys requested "real food" in their baskets this year. I didn't do it--I haven't heard any complaints. Have a great time!

I don't buy vegetables. My kids think carrots are what you get for special occasions like birthdays and graduations and stuff. So they wouldn't be surprised to find this kinda stuff in their baskets.

But my husband would. He knows perfectly well if I don't eat at least 500 whopper eggs over Easter weekend I think I'll dissolve in a steamy heap, shrieking "What a world! What a world!"

Oh man I wish I would have remembered your veggie/fruit idea. My kids weren't that impressed with the deodorant and little packets of tissues they got this year. (It IS allergy season afterall) The fruit/veggies would have been a real treat!
I hope you found the sun :)
and Thank you very much for not showing us the carrot!

Two years ago I filled my oldest son's Easter basket with corned beef hash.
I'm really glad he ate it and I didn't have to find it a year (or more) later.
Next year I'm totally filling my kids baskets with carrots and spinach.

Have a fun vacation wherever you are. My kids would probably just as soon eat a year old carrot as a fresh one. Sadly.

We had our traditional Easter egg hunt in between your old house, and soon to be, our old house. Rachel was saying that this would be our last hunt in this house.

I am so not getting over that old carrot. Please tell me that you made them eat it!
Wait, that would have been a carrot from Hawaii wouldn't it?
I bet they fought over it.

Give me your address, I'm going to send your poor little urchins some real Easter candy. (it will be discounted today in the store so I will still be able to make my house payment).

Seriously, your kids need some real treats. Your treats should be against the Word of Wisdom.

Did you get some kind of bad mom award for that veggie-egg idea? So totally NOT Easter.

I must admit that I too found some very melted jelly beans in some eggs I was refilling (with new TREATS). It was pretty a-scusting.

I was thinking that the carrot would probably last a year in Utah and be perfectly fine. In Hawaii it wouldn't last a month.

hee hee

I lub that my ancient Chinese secret reader is giving me his blessing with an eternal string of ellipses.

AND I'm NOT giving anyone my address so they can send candy. BELIEVE you ME my kids had plenty of candy.

Martha, ain't it so sad to think of all the lasts . . . Now you know how I kinda felt. Pretty soon you'll even get all sweaty eyed over parting with your dust.

You are SO glad you did not put an egg in one of those. Carrots are way better in this case.
Pasta noodles would also be bad. That is what my sink is saying after 2 days.
