Start Spreading the News!

If I was Jimmy Stewart I would say It's a wonderful life!

And if I was Nacho Libre I would say my life is gooooooooood!

If I was Michael Jackson I would say it's a thriller!

(And then I would say Peace OUT peeps!)

............................................................................................................

Okay, put your ear muffs on because I'm about to turn into my alter ego.

No, I'm not going to say nani nani boo boo and do a touchdown dance on my daughter's social studies teacher's face even though she told her and her performance group that she would have a heart attack if they made it past the school History Day competition.

But they DID make it past schools. (nani nani boo boo) And then they DID make it past districts. (nani nani boo boo) And today they DID make it past states.

Aaaaaaah!

They're going to Nationals in Washington D.C. because they won 3rd place.

And so is my son because his group won 1st place!.

And so am I because I gave birth to both of them.

So start spreading the news because . . .

I heart New York, New York with all my heart.

And it's only 5 hours from D.C.

You connect the dots . . .

P.S. Today my daughter also won her first two OIA championship tennis matches. She's now in the quarter finals.

Touchdown! Dance!

Okee dokee, I'm done bragging my brains out. You can remove your ear muffs now.

To meet The Crash in person would be top o my list. I ca even be in NYC on the days surrounding since I'll be in NJ, like an hour away from NYC!

Congrats to the kids. I wouldn't expect anything less than greatest from them, they have a pretty good example in you and your hub.

Hurray for NYC, maybe you will get to see a play.

I have a dream that some day I will go to NYC. Hopefully it will be while I am still alive.

There's a good chance, so I am keeping that good thought.

You know, Swirl always offers her parent's house to any of her friends who travel to the area so has she said, "You know, my parents live near DC and love to have company?" :)

Congratulations to your talented spawn!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

My verifier say ompingpen. My new swear word.

OMPingpen, did my mom just make a comment on my blog? Do my spawn have to land on the moon for me to get a little attention from my mom?

and OMPingpen, did my mom just used the word jazzard?

Oh, it's just jazzed. But STILL funny. I've never heard her say the word jazzed before. ;)

I guess we all don't need to come over there and do a kung fu but whoopin on the teacher do we, she is now walking the hall of SHAME!! And congrats to your daughter, twice, and congrats to your son! And especially to you that you get to go to DC and NEW YORK!!!!

Martha said...

I, of course, am more excited about the tennis than the history day, especially since T beat the #8seed and she is a baby freshman.

Oh, and tell Sandi that yes I know her cousin Troy. We were in the same ward and we sorta hung out in the same cirlce of friends. He was the nicest dude.

Martha said...

So I just looked up Sandi's cousin Troy and he's into John Adams too and was in a play where he was John Adams. See how cool Troy is.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Who the helk is Sandi's cousin Troy, Martha???

Did I miss something?

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh, I get it now. I checked your blog, Martha.

So Martha knows Sandi's cousin, Troy who once played John Adams in a play.

Ain't life weird how it connects all the dots with invisible red thread!!?

Thanks for all your congratulations and good wishes, friends.

And thanks for letting me brag my brains out.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

And I'm totally excited about my daughter upsetting teh # 8 seeded tennis player too, Martha. I even ate McDonalds last night because I was so happy.

Now that's saying something.

I was going to pull off a braggity ann post this week - only I couldn't quite think of enough things to brag about :) Your kids rock...

and I've been meaning to visit my sister in NY... of course, getting out there in June may not even be in the realm of possibility - dang - guess I'll have to wait for a Utah visit :)

WV says press - what's with the real words, those are harder to make a witty comment about! OH, I solved the problem by typing it wrong (seriously, how dumb can I be?) Grotanco - that's Spanish for the container I have upstairs for the brine shrimp...

hmmm... maybe I should have just stuck with press.

Mariko said...

Yeah, yeah. I know. It was all me and my fabulous feedback.

Oh, this is not my braggedy ann time?

Too bad.

Totally kidding. Your kiddies are awesome possum. But not in a wild "I'll eat your face" kind of way. Just the awesome way.
I heart NY too. I'm so sad you're going without me.
Every time I mention NY to my husband he says, "YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN THERE 3 TIMES!" And I say, "Never enough. Never enough."

Sandi said...

OHHHH yipeee! I love it when your little dummies give you something to brag about!! Especially when you get a trip to NY out of it. I am very jealous! Our school does nothing like that at all. Yay for you!
Yay for Crash's mom! Yay for Crash's Kids! Yay for meeting Alyson! *phew* I am tired now.
oh....tell Martha that I love that invisible red thread and now we can confuse Kritta even more with all the connections going on...OHHH and I also saw Martha on another of my facebook friends' - tell her I also know Ottley and we are just plain old connected!

MakingChanges said...

WOOHOOOO! I am thinking thems is bragging rights.

Looking forward to LOTS of pictures and great stories!

Heidi said...

YAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! Congratulations! How is daughter taking being in third whilst son is in first? BTW, how hard is it to stop in San Francisco on the way to DC? It's only 40 minutes from where I live. Connect the dots . ..(bwaaahaaahaaa!!)

val of the south said...

So. very. cool! I'm most excited that they proved that dern teacher wrong!!! Way to support your students...I'm still mad about that! Not that I'm a grudge holder or anything, but she still needs a smackdown - but I guess she got one what with their success and all. Yay little dummies (who aren't so dumb after all!)

wv: dityl
I think that should be a real word but I can't think of any clever definition, just like the sound of it!

val of the south said...

Yay Heidi,

We get to see you in less than a week!

Thank you for blurring my picture--I look so much better in soft focus! History Day Guru--cool, I like that--way better than Charlie Brown. Sounds like your virtual cross country road trip is going to happen in the real world! I might just have to come and meet all your witty, with-it blogging friends. (Not to mention that there were a couple of others kids who won too! YEAAAAAAAH!) Congratulations to T. on the tennis win. I expected it, but forgot to mention it! Way cool.

I am LoW said...

Oh yeah??? Well my kids may not be smart or atheletic, but they were the CHUBBIEST babies EVER!! And they are FUNNY.

Congratulations on all the excitement! I was wondering what all the HOOP and Hollaring was about over the weekend!

robin said...

that is soooo Awesome Braggity Ann! Don't you just love saying "so ha!" and proving people wrong? only you feel kind of naughty to say "so ha!" outloud but you still kind of do it inside... (unless you are in my family and we do it to each other's face)
