Go Elf Yourself Silly

Two things I've had a hard time getting into this year--tagging and the Christmas spirit.

I'm not sure how to explain the Christmas spirit thing because usually I'm listening to Mormon Tab, Osmonds and Carpenters Christmas by October, but last week every time I heard Christmas carols I got annoyed.

Thank goodness for my neighbor, Martha, who taught me how to elf myself silly, and to my son who has asthma and stayed home from school then went shopping with me for whip cream and cranberries and pumpkin pie and nutmeg and turkey and apple butter nut cider. Because of them I am at this very moment listening to Bing Crosby and feeling the christmas tingles.

Actually I'm alternating between Thanksgiving tingles and Black Friday tingles. Black Friday is my 2nd favorite day of the year, behind White Sunday (General Conference Sunday, DUH!)

So because I'm finally feeling the tingles, I want everyone to feel the tingles. That's why I've decided to start my very own tingle tag. The Elf Yourself Silly tag.

And because I'm still having a hard time getting into tagging because I don't like to talk about myself and I can barely get my visiting teaching done, let alone my tagging, I'm going to pass the buck on to all of you.

I'm tagging every single last one of you to spread the tingle tag cheer.

If you're reading this right now . . . YOU'VE BEEN TAGGED! (he he he --evil (tingley) laughter in background).

The only rule is you must laugh yourself silly while elfing yourself silly and then . . . pass it on, silly.

According to my calculations, if all 7,000 of you elf yourself silly and then pass it on, the entire world will be full of good will toward man by Christmas Eve (or at least good will towards elves by New Years Eve).

Okay, I get to go first, since I'm the one feeling the holiday tingles.

Are you sitting down? Have you removed all food and drink from your mouth? Have you taken a recent trip to the ladies room?

It's time for me and my silly family to make their big blog dancing debut. You are about to see my husband and I do the bump in our size 0 velour knickers? And my kids do the Hustle and the Ho-down and the Heston? (I mean the Charleston).

And when you're finished watching and laughing yourself silly, and believe me you WILL laugh yourself silly, then elf yourself silly.

But come back to my comment box with a link so we can all laugh ourselves silly too. We'll be waiting (and partying . . . and drinking apple butter nut cider . . . . and eating white chocolate covered pretzels . . . and snuggling in my new quilt if I win today over at blokthoughts. Vote for me if you want to snuggle with us.)

And have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I got was a lousing congratulations on my imagination and have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's totally shmooozing behind my blogging back.

It just goes to show that you can't trust foreign men.

Thanks! I have been having a hard time, too. There are 2 radio stations here that play Christmas music ONLY starting November 1st and I purposely skip those preset buttons in my car. I haven't been ready. Don't get me wrong, I have done some shopping, planned out my decorations volcano (Spewing decorations everywhere) and done some serious thinking about the 12 days of Christmas, but I just haven't hit the mood yet. I giggled myself silly. Good thing the lady's room is just across the hallway from my office. Good times. When I elf myself I'll be back to post the links.

verification word- supegess- slang for Super Guest, which I totally know I am!

I am in the Holiday spirit but not the Christmas spirit yet because I like to try to take one Holiday at a time and give each their due time. :-)

BUT after Thanksgiving I will be sure to Elf myself! :-)

Did that just sound like I am judging your for elfing yourself before Thanksgiving?! Because I am not! I promise!!

:-D

Crash, that was totally entertaining. I will try to elf myself after Thanksgiving and after I finished reading...I'm still trying work myself up for Thanksgiving.

btw, I voted for you on Blokthoughts. You think you can share even a little corner of your quilt with me if the rain picks up? {yep, you will that quilt, I can feel it.}

Lo, first you out do me on every holiday, including groudhog day and muskrat day, and now you're judging me for rushing ahead to Christmas just because I elfed myself to get in the spirit. What do you want me to do, Turkey myself? Stuffing myself? (Hey that's not a bad idea, actually.)

Youngblood, thanks for always getting me, rather than JUDGING me! ;)

j/k LO

Thanks Anjeny for the vote. I will definitely share a corner.

In fact let's have a Crash-n-Swirl slumber party. I know my husband will love that idea.

But I might not win. Shannon's creeping steadily up on me.

Anjeny, I'm only 3 votes ahead. You might have to fend for yourself in the rain, girl!

Aw shucks crash...do I need to go around all over the bloggasphere and campaign for you?
Come on girl, bring out your bom boms on this corner, let's have swirl do some cheer and cartwheel for you to get more people to vote for you. Ops, I'm not even supposed to be here, I'm suppose to stick to my guns and read the rest of that vampire book...dang that totally HOT Vampire teens...I'm sooo in like with him, I mean the books/movie...sheesh.

Okay...your girls face on the Hustle!!! PRICELESS...now I'm wondering...does your husband sport the beard all the time or most the time or just for that particular picture so you could ELF yourself! :)

Anyway...you guys were AMAZING...all that extra practice you put in really paid off...I'm a little iffy on the choreography...I could've done so much better but you are SO prideful and never ask your twin to choreograph things for you...total BOO!

I'll ELF myself like I've NEVER Elf-ed myself before and then let you know when I do!!!

I hate tags...but I never let down a twin.

Word Verifier--REATI

HECK YEA I'm ready!!! :)

I feel so left out.

I voted for you, and I admit I didn't read the other entry. I didn't need to, because yours was so good.
I wasn't ignoring your post (did you miss me in your comment box? Thought I was going to come through today, did ya?), I just got sucked into making jib jab HSM3 with Zach Williams as Zach Efron, because I was trying to make a point. Anyway, this was after I watched all three of yours.
I love how glamorous you look in comparison to the rest of your family. Ha ha. I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't you guys dancing, because I was a little impressed.
I have no ho down talent myself.

Glad I helped to get you into the spirit with the elf thing. I'm sure will hit more after Thanksgiving. Wow, what a time waster that elfing is. Rachel has spent two days solid uploading photos.

Hey, you can post a elf video directly on your blog, kinda cool. Check ours out at www.perrymartha.blogspot.com . Too bad you can only do five people at once. I had to put the dog in there too.

So where are you headed on Friday? Are you gonna brave the crowds?

I am LoW said...

Absolutely I want you to stuffing yourself! On the appropriate day which is tomorrow and no sooner and no later. And then get in the Christmas spirit the next day. That's how it works in my world anyways. :)

Ok, still with the joy school dull head and butterfly tummy, so no wit.

I did these elf yourselfs last year. So, I posted it on my blog last year. I'm so ahead of the times it's scary!

You guys are awesome at those dances though.

wv: ounal. I think it's saying anal, which is what a certain lady is who is in the joy school which is why I've got the whole tummy/head thing going on. Right on, verifier!
