My bust-a-move-and-shake-your-groove-thang post

A few posts ago I was boasting about how I can shake my groove thing on command.

I didn't expect you guys to hold my pinocchio nose to the fire, but you wanted proof--videographic evidence that I can get down and boogie oogie oogie.

Well I have a confession to make . . . I don't actually have any current dance moves.

In fact, I haven't ACTUALLY busted a move since the 80's.

I'm willing to give you a glimpse into why my son might have had that deer in the headlights look on his face when I got pulled up on stage to dance during a school assembly.

But to be fair, my husband is a dancer too and it wouldn't be cool to take all the glory upon myself.

So I pulled this video clip out of our courtship archives. This is my hub and I performing a lip sync to this music video by Ashford and Simpson at my ward talent show.

We weren't married yet. He hadn't even gone on his mission. And yet look at him freely serving his fellow man with his unique talents and abilities. He's always been such a giver.

Pump up the volume because I taped this off the TV. (That's how technically advanced I am.)

first, is it possible?

I can see why you married him... who can resist a guy in leather..

and he was thinking about those shoulder moves his entire mission I'm sure :)

(seriously, still just excited about being first... either that means I'm cool or it means I've been spending too much time at the computer today...)

Is it just me, or does he look a tad like George Michael in that video?

Annette, it's not just you. Everyone said that about him. And hey, loving your book. Gonna review it again soon.

Congrats on being 1st T. That means that as a rule, you're coooooooool.

Now it's all dawning on me now why you two are married..first he saw you when you had your comma all over your whites and then you two were putting the grooves on....there is no way the two of you are not meant to be together. Look how totally cool you two look together.

And T's right, that leather jacket and don't forget the beard, who could resist that. And OMG, you and your bust-a-move...he's one strong saint to hold off attacking you right there on the stage and go on a mission even after all that move he saw you doing...eheheh.

Alright, stop throwing stuff at me. You definitely got guts...there is no way I could pull anything like that off in public. Way to go dummy!! Now I know who I can volunteer for the adult number on the next Christmas program for the kids..eheh.

I'm not sure how to respond.

But I totally see George Michaels and your hubby being long lost twins.

Too funny, can't believe you shared that...my husband was embarassed by the dress-up pics I posted of him this week he would have divorced me for posting dance video.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

hee hee Anjeny, yes I always did have a weakness for the beard (and for George Michael).

And Amanda, I made him sign a contract which states that he can't divorce me before counting to 10 first.

For the record, I did get permission first. He rolled his eyes and said "Now Martha's gonna tease me." So Martha, NO TEASING Allowed.

I'm always telling my neighbors what a cute dancer he is, but they don't believe me because they think he's reserved. They don't know that there was a dance named after him in college . . . The Al Bundy. And they didn't see him do kareoke to Wild Thing on his family cruise. And they didn't see him do his lip sync to Born to Be Wild at his family reunion.

The guy'z got skillz.

The great thing about this is you can go to any BYU ward activity this weekend and see something VERY similar. Bless BYU for never changing:)

ok, so I'm watching the video and the music isn't matching the singing and AWESOME dance moves. And I'm thinking what the what...I've never heard Ashford and Simpson singing about 18 days.

Finally it dawns on me that I'm hearing the music from the blog.

Too bad you couldn't see my very confused face and then the lightbulb go off...I mean thank heavens!!

You rocked that! Sweet.

Wow.
That was H.O.T.
And yes, your lip sync looked exactly like the real video, except for some melanin.

And your daughter is totally a supermodel.

Is threading better than waxing? Why would I want to rip out each hair one at a time instead of all at once?

I had a whole page of posts to catch up on. I was definitely going through withdrawals. It made me fall in lub with you all over again.

I can't believe you're doing a meet 'n greet at OLIVE garden.
May I recommend Pizzeria 712 in Orem? It's at the bottom of a condo development that never got finished right on State street. It also has a kneaders sign that is not finished.
For some reason those isntructions are always perfectly understood by people whole live in Utah.

And again, the moves. Awesome!!!

I am really kind of speechless. Very impressive and the best part was how you got a video taped thing onto your blog. Some great tech skills there.

Oh and I forgot to hi-five T for being first. Way to go. Also very impressive.

WOW! I am super impressed by your technical skillz! It's no wonder George Michael wanted to marry you! You're a SUPERSTAR!

April said...

Oh- Crash - who are you trying to kid? This is how they act when they are on their walks... holding hands and singing to each other. LOL

now I see where your kids get their 'performing' talents for history day.

Wow, that is too funny. I especially liked when you guys jumped on the piano bench and busted moves from way up there. I was nervous that you were going to fall - scary.

I don't know how I can possibly restrain myself from teasing your hub. For a small price I could possibly be convinced to just let it go.

What a stud muffin! No Ashley Wilkes for you! And that hair bow--yeah. I had several of those. So very Minnie Mouse.
