The Gads Must Be Crazy!

Do you guys ever toss and turn at night and think to yourself that the Gads must be crazy?

Do you ever listen to Jack Johnson saying that he wants to turn the whole world upside down and think to yourself, why? It's already upside down.

If I were a stinkin' hot famous singer I would write a song about how I want to turn the whole world right side up.

Or at least sunny side up.

I think I'll suggest it to him next time I see him.

If there's one thing I've learned it's that nothing makes sense at all. Everything is backwords.

Which in a way makes perfect sense.

Does that make sense?

Or does that make your head spin?

Me too.

So how many of you have retreat hangover, raise your hand?

Me too.

I just have one question?

Who the helk threw the noodles on my ceiling?

And does anyone know how to speak Chinese? I need a translator just in case the universe is trying to send me my ancient Chinese secret.

My daughter would say that the universe doesn't send messages via spagetti noodles, but if it did it would say Smile and Be Happy!

She says Smile and Be Happy so much we had it engraved on her ipod just to remind her to take her own advice once in a while.

But we all know it ain't easy to S and BH. To S and BS is much easier.

Hey, btw, we found Nemo!

My son caught him while we were out net fishing. He put him in the tank on top of his dresser and when he opened the lid to feed him Nemo popped right out and soared like a hero right through the air. I suspect he wasn't too keen on the idea of living in a fishbowl. I almost wished there was a big wide ocean underneath him to catch his fall, but instead he belly flopped right into my son's underwear drawer.

Ain't that just like life?

The Gads really must be crazy!

Hey, before you guys make your way back home, THANKS for the awesome, cathartic, fun, draining, inspiring, bonding retreat. I'm going to CRASH!

But first everyone grab a Code Red Mountain Dew.

Now everyone raise your glass and do as my theme song for the day says to do:

Drink to all that we have lost, mistakes that we have made . . .

And remember, Everything will change, but love remains the same.

CHEERS!

Why must you rub it in my face that I am not drinking soda?!?! No Mountain Dew for me! But I will cheer with my tasteless bottled water. Boo.

Anjeny said...

I don't care very much for mountain dew, red white blue or green since I am soooooo off the caffeine. Do you mind if you toast my root beer float instead? NO..ok, cool.

CHEERS!!

I wish I can CRASH right now but alas, I have to go play chauffer and "money tree" to my girls..laters.

Can I raise a Dr. Pepper? The doctor and I have become pretty close over the last little bit and I think I'd hurt his feelings if I switched to another...
I was a lurker for the retreat. I sat next to the water cooler with my thumb in my mouth - thanks for the bonding time, though. I needed it.

Actually-I believe that's Chinese for 'you did a sorry job of TPing OBG Try harder next time.' Just sayin' is all.

Hooray for finding Nemo!

PS-my verify is capton...which is what I used to make my roommate call me.

I did. How else was I to know if the noodles were done? :-)

I made it before 9000 comments!!! THIS is when to check you out huh?!?!

I am LoW said...

Oh, I am off caffiene too. And I SO don't miss the jitters. How come when I go to the dentist they can't numb me for nothing, but when I drink a soda I am bouncing off the walls? And how come it took me 20 years to realize soda made me feel so awful?

You sound so tired! I feel bad for not coming to play all day and night like everyone else but at least I don't have to feel guilty for making you crash (I had a crazy week--it must be b/c of the Gads).

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Lo, I posted early just for YOU! But that was rude about the noodles.

I GUESS if you want to raise your class with Dr. Pepper or Rootbeer float or Watter or whatever it's okay.

Thanks for lurking Wixom.

Barb, I'm going to call you the capton now.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

You guys know I know how to spell water, right?

Hi Miss Heidi!!!! I am tired. Can you hear it in my voice? But in a good way, because I'm off caffeine too.

Lo, I can't imagine you feeling awful. I can only imagine you feeling cute as a button. A Benjamin Button.

I'm with Kristina, I'm now raising my disgusting community 32 ounce jug of luke warm tap water in solute to all the hair raising hangover fun from your retreat.

"There was an old man named Sydney
Who drank till he ruined a kidney,
It shriveled and shrank
But he drank and he drank
He had his fun doing it, didn't he?"

Crash you had me laughing with your suggestion of Dr. Toad or Toadphrah. That had me laughing even harder tonight when my husband and I went out for dinner for chinese food and my fortune cookie read "a friend or partner will soon be calling on you for help". What can I say? I can't help myself.

Okay. That didn't hurt to bad yet.

I'm going to take me a shower and see how I feel when I am done.

Oh, and thanks for posting early, Crash! That's so sweet! :-)

And for having the funnest blog ever.

Oh LoW!!! You are so brave to share that!

Now I need a stiff drink...anyone else need a diet coke? It's been a long two nights....I'm sleep deprived!

I am LoW said...

Thank you kindly, April. :)

And I'll take a lemonade. The one with only 5 calories please. :)

I had to delete my bucket filled.... tears/confession. haha

I couldn't do it. I think I could if we were all in a room together, but the WWW (whole wide world)(and my mom), I can't.

I can't believe the ONE night I am here and ready to go, everyone is sleeping. That's what y'all get for partyin' so hard the past two nights!

Maybe ya'll aren't drinking enough caffiene! :-)

To CTD all the retreat ladies, from me - India.Arie actually:

Strength, Courage & Wisdom

Inside my head there lives a dream that I want to see in the sun
Behind my eyes there lives a me that I've been hiding for much too long
'Cause I've been, too afraid to let it show
'Cause I'm scared of the judgment that may follow
Always putting off my living for tomorrow
It's time to step out on faith, I've gotta show my faith
It's been illusive for so long, but freedom is mine today
I've gotta step out on faith, It's time to show my faith
Procrastination had me down but look what I have found, I found

[Chorus]
Strength, courage, and wisdom
And it's been inside of me all along,
Strength, courage, and wisdom
Inside of me

Behind my pride there lives a me, that knows humility
Inside my voice there is a soul, and in my soul there is a voice
But I've been, too afraid to make a choice
'Cause I'm scared of the things that I might be missing
Running too fast to stop and listen

It's time to step out on faith, I've gotta show my faith
It's been illusive for so long but freedom is mine today
I've gotta step out on faith it's time to show my faith
Procrastination had me down but look what I have found, I found

Strength, courage, and wisdom
And it's been inside of me all along,
Strength, courage, and wisdom
Inside of me

I close my eyes and I think of all the things that I want to see
'Cause I know, now that I've opened up my heart I know that
Anything I want can be, so let it be, so let it be:.

Strength, courage, and wisdom
It's been inside of me all along,
Strength, courage, wisdom
It's been inside of me all along, everyday I'm praying for:

Strength, courage, and wisdom
To find me, yeah,
Strength, courage, and wisdom
Inside of me

I found it in me, I found it finally
I'm sure to keep it' cause I like it, I say thank you

I'm so totally raising my code red with you because code red is da bomb. I'm not off caffeine, just down to a couple times a week is all. I'll at least give it a shot. Plus, after an all-nighter, you sorta need to start the day off with a code red.

Here's the red thread again - both of our current posts end with: Cheers! We even both used an exclamation point. We are in sync, baby!

Aloha lo, and everyone!

I got to see Lo's secret in my email. Nani nani.

Lo, I'm sorry. And how cute are you? I'm so proud of you for sharing that with us for an hour. It must have felt liberating.

You are the cutest thing ever. It's not such a shameful secret. I mean, it's disappointing, but it's nothing to be ashamed of, that's how I look at it.

There must be a million zillion people who are carrying that same disappointment.

Whatever the reasons, don't blame yourself. I can feel your adorability every time I enter your blog. I love your blog. You are an awesome mom.

HI KRITTA! I feel so close to you now that we stayed up talking until 2am. I'm so glad you feel lighter!

Annie how funny to think of you raising your lukewarm 32 ouncer. And then sticking a piece of salami in your mouth. But at least you'll look hot foreva. Worth it.

Robin, HOW FUNNY. HOW PSYCHIC. Seriously Psychic. So which do you like better Dr. Toad or Toadphrah?

April, I'm sleep deprived too. And my emotions have been through the wringer. It was a wonderful wringer through. SUCH A FUN RETREAT!

G'night Swirl. Thanks for coming to tuck us in.

Thanks for the Lyrics Navadanista. I love it when you share lyrics. Those lyrics ROCK!

Alyson! FINALLY someone who knows how to drink a CODE RED with a CHEERS and an exclamation point! High five, girl!

I don't actually like soda. Am I still invited? Man, I really am a party pooper.
I love that movie BTW. TGMBC. I asked my parents to rent it all the time. The noodles are trying to tell you that Gavin Rossdale is hot, but his name is not Jack Johnson, and we forgive him for not being a super great musician because he has such a cute wifey and baby.

I'm nursing with a big ole cup of coffee. For fun we made Dunkin' Donuts coffee and I'm drinking it from a Starbucks Christmas mug. Somethings wrong with that right? I don't know. But helk (aka Germany) has indeed frozen over so maybe. A balmy 5 degrees today (and I do mean F not C)

Happy hangover day. That was the best slumber party I've ever been too, even if I didn't sleep all night for fear you would all drown my unmentionables in water.

My 'word' is daisjpn That means I should go spend days in Japan right??

Sorry no time to post, I'm too tired from making the calendar. I hate computers this week, I'm never using one again. And I cannot be pleasant to another student who asks if they can add your English class, it is full to the brim.

Crash's classes always fill up first because she is the most well-liked instructor on campus. Even though they are early in the morning the students will sacrifice much-needed sleep to take her.

I am LoW said...

Martha must be right about Crash's fan base at school, since she has a million zillion young friends on facebook. :-)

Crash- Thanks! And it was. :) So far it's the biggest "what did I do wrong?!?!" and "I've failed!" and since people still ask about it, are they thinking "it's because she...."?

Anyways, let me get the noodles off the wall and move on outta the way... :)

Dr. Toad has a nice ring to it even though unlike Dr. Phil I don't use all those comments like "you're as jumpy as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs". However, I did have aspirations at one point of becoming a marriage and family therapist. Now I just listen to everyone that comes my way and pipe up ALL the time in Sunday School and Relief Society. I often say to my friends "help me!!! I'm talking and I can't shut up!!!!"

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness. Martha, YOU ACTUALLY did make me a calendar? YOU ARE the nicest neighbor in the world. Buying my clothes . . . organizing my life . . . filling my class. Can you clean my house too? Will you be my secretary?

When I get rich and famous I will be sure to buy you a big gulp or something.

For now I better make you some cookies, OR lend you a dozen eggs so you can make your own cookies.

Happy hangover, Blogging mama. Hugs.

Hugs Dr. Toad. Hugs Lo. Hugs Mariko.

Seriously one of my favorite songs! Good choice. I have been waiting to use it on a day when I talk about my hubby, but we haven't seen each other lots lately because of work and such. I stray from my topic, though, sorry!

I am thinking that the noodles are telling you to stop looking at the ceiling for life's answers, but I could be wrong. The noodles remind me of a time on my mission when I had a most fabulous food fight with my companion after a dinner appointment canceled last minute and we had to make a quick dinner of spaghetti. Wet noodles are pretty hard to get out of your hair, just a word of advice!

TisforTonya said...

at least you know the noodles are done... they only stick if they're cooked :)

You seriously have a ton of fun in your comments... wow. I have been totally missing out while I have been trying to be responsible.

Screw responsibility! I need to join in on all your partying!!

Lo, big hugs of support and comfort. I am finding that life does not seem to turn out the way we think it will. Darn free agency. When will there be a class "free agency and how to enforce it". I think this is a bucket only the Saviour can carry for you. Just like April said I think.

Oh my gosh word verifier: unsonymb which seems strangely like unibomber, doesn't it.

I am LoW said...

Thanks Nutty. You are right. I thought so surely I was prepared to accept the agency thing. I really thought I was.
