Let's Hit the Road!

Okay guys, enough blubbering . . . let's hit the open road!

We've got some new bloggers on board our Blog-Across-America so I added a song for them. Bicycle Race by Queen. I LOVE QUEEN and Bicycle Race is my daughter's favorite song.

Val of the South is living the vida Utah and has a broken ankle so she would rather ride her bike along side the yellow submarine. We also have Pedaling who is all about bikes and dogs. (Feel free to bring your dogs.)

My JA brother Stephen is also a major cycler and could probably kick our cute-little-running-short-clad booties in a bicycle race. (I wonder if he has this song on his playlist?)

I was thinking since we're going to be cycling and jogging and blogging, we should try to get people to sponser us for every mile. I know without a doubt I could set a new world record for most miles blogged in a row so while I'm blogging my brains out I might as well make some money for cancer research or something.

No, forget cancer research. I will buy every single cancer victim a 2 liter bottle of Code Red Mountain Dew.

OMGOSH! Guess who stopped by during the friendship basket to give me a craving for humble pie? Pat's mom, Marjorie! THANKS for coming by Marjorie, but I feel unworthy.

Can we call you Marjie?

Everyone give Marjie a big hug! She is up to bat right now against breast cancer so grab your pom poms. But don't forget to poke her in the eye so too she doesn't get a cavity from all the love.

Marjie we're all going to pitch in and buy you the complete Carol Burnett Show collection so you can laugh yourself silly. I hear that cancer is super ticklish. I LOVE CAROL BURNETT!

Hey Jami finally showed up for the lesson, so everybody pay attention.

Or we can just talk story behind her back and tell each other about our first kiss. It's a road trip must! My first kiss was to a boy named Brigham. I was only 13 years old and I was madly in love . . .

But you guys go first. Age before beauty, they always say.

Gee, what else could I say to make Funny Farmer's head spin?

Oh, do you guys want to hear about my first day in Relief Society as a commoner?

Well, I sat in the back. I didnt' realize it was so loud in the back, but I guess that's where all the giggly girls sit.

Don't look at ME! They were totally egging me on.

The opening song was every cotton picking verse of Master the Tempest is Raging. We sang it for 15 minutes straight. I kid you not. My stomach hurt so bad. But I was singing with all of my heart. Really, I was singing my lungs out. And then as soon as the song ended the sister sitting next to me handed me a peppermint altoid.

How RUDE!

And THEN we went right into the practice hymn and we sang the chorus on MTTisR AGAIN! But this time peacefully instead of fervantly. The old chorister kept turning around and giving me stink eye as if it was MY fault she wasn't up there leading a different song, so finally I just stuck my tongue out at her.

Okeedokee, gotsta get movin.

bLoG oN eVeRyOnE!

But first, YAY STEELERS!

April said...

Oh yes...and BIG HUGS for Marjorie!!! Cancer stinks!!! And breast cancer stinks more!!!

April said...

Yes, Nevadanista...but not me! :D

nevadanista said...

Okay, it's alright to be beaten by April since she's radioactive and everything :)

I'll go read now...

verifier - bushes

I like to just hang back now, so it looks like my life is important and I have things going on, rather than sitting in front of my Reader. Did it work?

val of the south said...

Thanks for the love Crash!

Now that I'm out there, I'm going to have to try to be witty...oh, the pressure!!

Jami said...

Sorry the lesson went long, guys. I just couldn't figure out what to cut. Oddly enough my word verifier is 'fully.' If I didn't cover the subject fully, at least I covered at length.

So...first kiss story. Nah. But tell me about you!

Carol Burnett! Perfect. Let the fight against dour cancer begin! If we have any money left over after getting the Carol Burnett Show, we can pick you up some curiously strong mints.

I guess I know Margorie well enough now. HAVE A BIG HUG, Margie!!

April said...

Kristina....it worked! hehehehe!!

Alyson | New England Living said...

Sorry! Didn't mean to offend you when I handed you the altoid. I totally thought I was being subtle.

binks said...

Just wanting to stop & give Marjorie lots of ((HUGS)). Stay strong and beat that nasty stuff!

Been through that stinkin' breast cancer with my sister and thank God she is almost at the 5 year cancer free mark!

J. Baxter said...

Tell your old chorister she isn't the only one who got fired. I just got released today from the RS chorister position (my real calling is activities person)because I'm too much of a rebel. Okay, there's way more to the story than that, but still. I feel her pain. And while you're singing for fifteen minutes because the song's so long, we're now singing for fifteen minutes because the song goes so slooowwwwwwwwwww.

And my first kiss story is way too long for a comment box. But it's a great story...

Okay- I'll be the first to spill the beans about my first kiss.
I went to a summer camp for 3 years. (the summer before 7th, 8th and 9th grades.) I had a boy friend at camp two summers in a row. (the same boy.) The first summer we just held hands.. (giggle, giggle.) THEN the second year.. about half way through summer... his buddies start teasing us that we had never- you know- k*I*s*s*E*D (blushing) so my BF told the guys if they would leave... we would. We promsied we would if they would just leave us alone for two seonds.( Like we wanted our first kiss to be in front of a crowd- ya know?)
Evan was his name- and he was a year older than me.
Anyway.. I liked him so much before the kiss and then after it- not so much. It burst my innocent bubble... the magic was gone and I started avoided him. Then summer was over and that was it. The magic lost.. the next summer I just acted like I didn't know him. (How sadly immature I was.)

LBBlum said...

Okay- I was thinking about that summer camp and I just remembered my first kiss-- I thought that one was.. but really my first one was at summer camp- during a play- I had to kiss the lead.. ANTHONY RAPP. (I went to Interlocken a camp for the arts... ) He later went on to broadway- RENT and made a few movies too- A BEAUTIFUL MIND - the dorky co-worker with glasses. Does that count? I remember being soooo embarrased that I had to kiss him- our acting teacher was like, "it's no big deal-- just kiss him!" and inside I was like, I've never kissed anyone before? can we practice? just kidding. I was very shy and my grandma signed me up for theater classes to help with that I think. ( I was there for drawing, painting, etc.)

anyway- I want other people to tell their kissing stories.. I wish I had more first kisses to tell!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Swirl, I wish you had more first kisses to tell too.

I'm totally hiding from my hubby right now, pretending to fold the clothes so I can't stay, but I just wanted to say, Swirl, your boys are here watching a movie. I told them they could stay until 10:00pm. Is that cool?

LBBlum said...

Okay- I am offering a bag of kisses to the person who spills the beans on their first kiss!

I'm dying to hear some other stories ladies!

LBBlum said...

CRASH! Why call when we can just communicate through blogs?

They asked and I said fine- thanks for letting me know.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh, I like that idea. A bag of kisses! You've got your thinking cap on tonight! So Kreativ!

April said...

Does mouth to mouth count as a first kiss?

April said...

That didn't sound right....hahahaha...I meant as in a life saving class for swimming lessons!

ahahahahahah!!! wv=unlipsy!!!

Sandi said...

I am going to bed and hoping to check back in the morning to find a whole bunch of first kiss stories- I just know there will be some stinkin hilarious ones and I cant wait. I think Swirl is very brave for going first and think she should get to keep that bag of kisses for herself.

Heidi said...

Have I ever told you that I consider you to be cypernatural? Just chew on that for a while. (Altoids! You don't need no stinkin' altoids!)

Sandi said...

April...think Sandlot..."he'd kissed a woman and he'd kissed her long and good"

Sandi said...

ok I really am going to bed but I just saw this WV and had to let you know.....it says "mormin"
WEIRD!
Goodnight!

April said...

Ok...mine was with Patricio...in the church's coat closet....they have those in Canada. I was in the seventh grade. I started young. Which is why I won't let my boys date seriously until they are 21!!!! I'm no dummy!!!

April said...

Wait....Sandi....was Joan's first kiss Drew???? Was it? huh?? hehehehe!!!

April said...

Sandi?????

Sandi said...

!!!! April !!!! you took the dummy's name in vain!! I hope you don't get smote...or something like that.
I'm trying to remember if your hubby was Joan's first kiss- I'm thinking maybe so?!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Wait!!! Who's Joan? And why was Drew kissing her?

I hope we're not stirring up trouble here.

LBBlum said...

Yeah! April wins the bag of kisses! Now I know.. to keep my boys out of church closets!

Sandi said...

Joan is my best friend and Drew is Aprils hubby and yes they kissed. Long and Good..haha.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

What the what??? Did you guys grow up together?

And Swirl, good one. hee hee

We have so much fun ahead of us don't we. ARGH!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

I can't wait to tell my story now.

But I'll have to post it.

Sandi said...

My 1st kiss was oh so pathetic. Tony, in the back seat of Jerry's car. In front of the Maverick(convenience store) Jerry goes into store, Tony leans over and lays one on me. The End.

Sandi said...

me and Drew go wayyy back. April entered the picture a little bit later.

Sandi said...

I hope I win something for going 2nd...maybe you have an extra hymn book laying around? hmm? I really am going to bed now. See ya

Alyson | New England Living said...

Ok, ok, my first kiss was to a french boy named Oliver. He was super handsome, smokin' hot really, and bohemian and he was so rebellious that he even smoked in my parent's backyard. He had a beautiful accent and I loved the way he said my name.

So, here's where it all went sour. He smoked! The kiss tasted of cigerettes. Yuck! Then, of course, being the frenchie that he was, he wasn't content with just a kiss...enough said. I was constantly fighting off Mr. Handsie. Had to fake a few colds.

When he left he made me promise to call when I got to the UK. I said I would. But I didn't. Didn't feel like dealing with a groping ashtray mouth.

Holy crap. Did I really just tell you all that? I'm up too late for my own good.

nevadanista said...

Haha Swirl! You didn't like him so much after the kiss :D I had a similar experience once too, though not my first kiss.

My first kiss was in the 4th grade with Mark G. We would write notes to each other to arrange times and places to kiss. In the 5th grade, my group of friends, about 10 of us (including Mark G), were sent to the principles office when we were caught playing truth or dare at lunch time (we all did dares and kissed someone).

Can you believe I turned out to be a nice girl, and wasn't the high school hussie?

Oh my heck! No joke, this is my verifier: horress

The Crash Test Dummy said...

g'night. I'm sure I can find an extra hymn book for you. hee hee

That was a very romantic first kiss.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

ha ha ha My verifier is soooo rude. It's totally snarky.

But I love it.

Fourth GRADE! wow! You go, girl.

April said...

That's AWESOME Sandi!!! Now I have pouting material for Drew!!! SUHWEEEET!!!!

wv=sandifes .....what the what??? sandi fessed!! How does it know??? Creepy!!!!

Sandi said...

OK I lied. I can't go to bed now because I want to hear more kissing stories and hopefully one at least one that was as dorky as mine was.It obviously won't be Crash's story because she has already deemed that experience blog-worthy- I can't wait to hear all about it! (Plus also, I just remembered that I have a day off tomorrow so I can stay up late)..woohoo!

April said...

PS-Sorry I took your name in vain Dummy! (Hanging head in shame)

Sandi said...

Alyson---SERIOUSLY, who gets to say their first kiss was with an older French guy named Oliver? Even if he did end up being a groping ashtray mouth - I'm a little jealous.

April said...

hehehehe!!! I agree with Sandi!! Who does get to do that?

Alyson | New England Living said...

That's why I had to seize the moment and go for it. How many chances was I going to get like that? How many people get to say that their first french kiss was from a french hottie? :0

Tana said...

I love Queen. Bicycle is top 7. Just cause i don't know all the words.

Sandi said...

And how many girls get to say their first kiss was with a guy named Tony in front of a gas station...so there.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Ooooh, what'd I miss? I didn't see Alyson's super edgy story.

Wow! A groping ashtray! I've always wondered what it would be like to kiss a groping ashtray.

hee hee.

I like it when we stay up late drinking the Dew!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

hee hee

Okay, that was so random how Tana just popped up out of nowhere and said she loves Queen. ha hahahahaha

Okay, in any normal comment box that would have been perfectly cool, but hey Tana, we're talking trash here!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

And how many girls get to say they kissed a boy named BRIGHAM! huh? huh? huh?

Think about it. My place is heaven is sealed.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

But he didn't smoke so Alyson wins.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Swirl, send Alyson a bag of candy kisses, will ya?

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Hello??

The Crash Test Dummy said...

I'm feeling like Kritta22, here.

Sandi said...

we need a few more details before we can declare a winner crash....can you beat in front of a gas station i the DAY LIGHT??
and yes that was random of tana, but we like her anyways.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Yes, we like her. She just needs to get warmed up.

Tana, have a Dew and stay a while.

Sandi, I hate to break it to you, but you need a smoking hot vampire in your life. That Tony/Gas station story in the daylight may not make the top ten.

Sorry, girlfriend.

Sandi said...

I have always felt self conscious about my crappy first kiss and you are just making it worse. Just so you know. I do have a GREAT first kiss in Hawaii story though and it totally makes up for it, but my lips are sealed on that one.

Sandi said...

well poo..I thought this was going to be a party but I think I'm the only one here besides random tana and that crash lady who wants to make me feel bad about my 1st kiss. No party here folks..no siree

Alyson | New England Living said...

Sandy - I've always thought gas stations were romantic. hehehe

Alyson | New England Living said...

Crap! I really hope my husband doesn't stumble on your blog and read all this because he is pretty ignorant on the topic of my first kiss.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh how funny, Alyson.

Maybe we should be telling our BEST kiss. hee hee

Sorry Sandi, I gotta call it like I see it.

And my husband is dragging me out the door for a walk.

keep spilling your guts.

Sandi said...

Alyson I was just thinking the same thing about my daughter Kute Kasey...she wanders over here sometimes and she will tease me mercilessly if she sees this.
what time is it there anyway?

April said...

What if I said that I was the smoker when I kissed Patricio....is that weird?

Alyson | New England Living said...

2:30am!!!! Crazy, huh?

Ooooo, April, I want to hear that story.

April said...

I was a brat! So if I kissed Oliver, I wouldn't have noticed his ashtray breath....hmmmm.

Sandi said...

April, I don't think I wanna know!
Alyson what are you doing up?

April said...

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness!!! I was not a good girl growing up!! I started smoking in the 6th grade! Doing drugs and drinking in the 7th grade. I stopped all of it the middle of the ninth grade.

Alyson | New England Living said...

I'm up late looking through facebook. Now I'm wondering if Oliver is on there....owww, don't want to know actually.

April, you were a brat! But I was a brat at one point too, so it's all good.

Sandi said...

Wow..up late at night looking on facebook...wondering if groping ashtray mouth Oliver is on there. Juvenile April and all her BADNESS..this is getting good.

Alyson | New England Living said...

Do you people look up old boyfriends on facebook? I looked up an old crush and he is scary looking now. So, I don't even go there anymore.

April said...

Yes, sadly, Alyson, I was a brat. And sometimes the brattiness still shows its ugly face! Not the way it did when I was younger....but in other ways...

Alyson | New England Living said...

OH MY GOODNESS - verifier says "licks"! hahaha

Perfect for kissing talk, right?

Alyson | New England Living said...

I was a brat too, April, so I get it.

Sandi said...

that WV is making me nervous.

April said...

Sandi, you were soooo pure....cough...cough! hehehehe!!

April said...

I am friends on facebook with Patricio....my first kiss...true story!

Sandi said...

Oh April dear- its true. You have the scoop on my first kiss and if that isn't proof of my purity, I don't know what is!

Sandi said...

well holy crap April, I am running over to facebook right now to check him out!!!

Alyson | New England Living said...

Really, April? That's funny. And, I just realized, since he's a frenchie his name is spelled Olivier.

Alyson | New England Living said...

My facebook link is on my blog sidebar. Be my friend cuz I wanna see this dude too. hehehehe

Sandi said...

IT should be against the law to have itty bitty pics on facebook where I can't tell what 1st kiss guys look like!

Alyson | New England Living said...

Sandi, where's your blog? I couldn't get over to your's?

Sandi said...

It is against my religion to blog.

Sandi said...

I'm up way too late. Don't tell Crash but I can't even remember what her post was about. haha. I think I better hit the hay- Good night girls, it's been fun :)

Alyson | New England Living said...

Goodnight, Sandi. I'd better get to bed too. Thank goodness it's MLK day tomorrow and I don't have to be up early.

April said...

Night Sandi....sweet dreams!!! hehehee!!! Alyson...I added you on facebook! Now I am off to bed. I didn't get my nap today. I had to finish Miss Heidi's book! It was all I had hoped for!! WONDERFUL!!! AMAZING!!! FANTASTIC!!!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh, I missed the party, but you girls were spillin' it. hee hee

I was a gooooody gum-drop. That will be evident in my first kiss story. Poor Brigham.

April and Alyson, maybe it was better you got it over with when you were young.

Sandi, I don't believe you were a good girl. You're just saying that in case Kute Kasey wanders over. hee hee

J/K Sandi.

April so glad you loved Miss Heidi's book.

Night girls.

And morning girls.

I can't stay up as long as you guys...Crash just blogs whenever...she needs to get serious about this blogging stuff and blog on a schedule so I know when to expect it and not miss something...like this last post and last TELL ALL session!

I totally have a great first kiss/make-out story...but I've missed my window of opportunity to read it!!!

I'll have to tell it on MY blog then! lol!

I am LoW said...

I had a French guy wanting a kiss at Youth Conference and I blogged about it and I can't find it to send the link!! I even posted his love letters to me, haha!

I would like to share my first kiss with my husband. (and pretend there wasn't 50 guys before him)
:-)

I've known my husband since I was 12, but he was older and never noticed me until he was home from his mission and I was 16 or 17. So he'd go off to the Y and come back and flirt and later we dated. But one day we walked to the park and we swang and slid and stuff and we were up on some play ground equiptment and he asked if he could kiss me! And I was all wanting him to, but he asked?!?! And I was thinking, 'You don't know if you should kiss me or not?!' .... actually, I didn't just think it, I said it. And I told him he had to figure that one out on his own. So later we were walking home, in the middle of the road, and he stopped me and asked again and I said, "Seriously, you ruin the mood when you ask, you should KNOW when a girl wants a kiss!" and he said, "I've been at the Y and the girls there expect to be asked." And I said, "Well, I am not a girl from the Y!! I am from the south, and we expect a guy to know when it's time to kiss!"

And we did. :-D

haven't read down the comments yet (all 94 of them) but I had to bow in reverence... no, not because of MTTIR - the verifier says "hersect" - you've really started your own little RS here now!

TisforTonya said...

new verifier "guidish" - so I guess I follow along - ish...

First Kiss: some kid named Joe... (actually, Joe was his 1st, middle and Last Name... sort of) ...I think... but it was a pretty lame kiss...

and heck yeah - I have all sorts of "facebook friends" that are old crushes... (though I avoid the stalker guy) nice to see that most of them have grown up - and hilarious to see that some of them are now GAY - yikes, yikes and Yikes again!

TisforTonya said...

I don't really have anything to add, I just wanted to be the 100th comment-Now I am going to read Low's French guy experience..woohoo

Melanie Jacobson said...

I'm FB friends with my first kisses wife! I introduced them.

Okay, first kiss story...I was fourteen. My boyfriend was from another ward in the stake about an hour away so we only saw eachother at stake activities. In October we had a stake volleyball tournament at a local middle school and we snuck onto the stairs of the stage and he kissed me---WHILE I WAS CHEWING GUM! All I could think was, "Aaah! I'm kissing someone! Aaah! What do I do with my gum?" And then we dated off and on for ten years after that.

Just SO said...

I think the Carol Burnett show could take out Cancer single handedly.

Sounds like a good time was had in RS even with the chorister giving you the Stink eye and someone handing you an altoid. But seriously, all verses of MTTIR? To me that says the teacher hadn't prepped her lesson very well and needed to kill some time somewhere!

Hey my word verifications is digeth...I digeth this blog.

Sandi said...

Low! you were a flippin' heart breaker! I love your french guy and his angst. I love your hair even more. Thanks for sharing!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Okay, first of all, you ALL HAVE to go read Lo's post about her first kiss. Well actually there was no kissing involved, but there's a cute love letter and some cute photos. Lo, you were so cute, even with the funky hair. And I HAVE that EXACT same dress. OMGOSH,girlfriend, did we buy the same McCall's pattern or what? So weird. I'm going to have to dig up that photo. And you're so right about texting. It's sad that kids these days don't get to save love letters to find in their closets all these year later.

HOW cute that your cute French dude asked you to meet him in Paris. You should look him up on Facebook.

Oh and I loved your first kiss with your husband story. Send that southern belle some candy kisses, Swirl.

Pedaling just said this blog is like Facebook. Wahoo! Too bad we can't add photos of our first kisses to the comment box.

Shelle, you silly goose. Haven't you noticed I always TRY to post in the PM before bed. Sometimes I'm a little late, but usually I get it out between 4-7 Samoan time. NOT PROMISING THOUGH. Life is picking up pace here in the islands. But I really want to hear you and Jen's first kiss stories. POST THEM, POST THEM, POST THEM!

T, I love that you're in tune with my verifier and that some of your old boyfriends are gay. Do any of them live in Germany?

Melanie, hee hee you were so busy thinking about the gum you missed the moment. Ain't that just like life.

There's a moral there. There's a definite moral there.

Hi So! That's EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!

nevadanista said...

I tried to leave a comment over on your post Low, but i don't think it worked. Anyway, LOVED IT! "Escuse me again" :D

Was awesome!

I can't believe you dated your first kiss for ten years on and off Melanie!

Oh, love the Bicycle Queen song too! But what cross country trip would be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody?

I am LoW said...

Crash- thanks! Did you like that my ma was all "I can't believe you didn't kiss him!" Soooo my mother! haha And the hair- always the hair, my mother had straight hair and I had an afro so she didn't know how to help. Mix it in with the beach, there is just no hope.

Nevadanista- Thanks!! VOX would only let those who had an account comment- which was one reason I left them...

He was hot though guys, wasn't he? :-)

Jami said...

Wow. What a lot of smooching going on! 105 comments! Eventually, I'll get around to telling my first kiss story, but it's so immature that I cringe every time I think of it. I like other people's stories better. Now, my first kiss with my husband--that was sweet.

April said...

LoW what a cute pic of you and Frenchie in 1986 (GULP) the year I got married. (GULP). I am soooo old! I just act immature!

But wait, CRASH!!! What about YOUR first kiss? Way to deflect everything back on to us!!

Sorry T, I don't want be the cause of any marital strife because of my ROE!!! That would not be good!

Alyson | New England Living said...

I want to add a picture of my frenchie, but I can't do that on my blog! Hubby would not be happy. Wish there was some way I could add it here, Crash!

OMG! My verifier says "seedi", not unlike my groping frenchie! Now I have to read about Low's frenchie, though I don't think he was a groping ashtray mouth.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Alyson, send me your seedi photo and I will totally post it for you.

OMGOSH, my verifier is totally freaking me out. It says fables.

Girl, really we are putting our fables down in history now aren't we? Which is what we should do with our fables

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Lo, I love your ma. I would have said the same thing. YOU SHOULD have kissed him, girlfriend!

Jami, do tell your sweet hubby story.

Alyson | New England Living said...

Ahhhh...Low's frenchie was of the romantic variety and not the groping variety. What a sweetie! And, Low, you really should have went for it!

K, Crash. I'll scan it and email it to you. hehehe

I am LoW said...

I know, I know! I totally should have! But I had just been through a lot of kissing and I felt like guys were just using me for kissing- HAHA! So I was going through a super goody-goody phase. AND I felt like- at a church activity?! With grown ups walking all around?! haha!

But yeah- that's SO my mom! haha! She seriously encouraged such behavior! :-O

Sandi said...

Sigh. I really wish I would have had a frenchie...But I pretty much kissed all of the south pacific, so I guess I won't complain. haha

Sandi said...

Ok, so Crash- are you still taking song requests for the playlist? because I haven't been officially invited, and I don't know if you are swinging by Arizona, but I can always drive up to Utah and hang out with April while we wait for you. I need a falling song, because I am kinda uncoordinated and I will probably fall at some point. I like that one called "I will fall for you" by 2nd hand serenade. I know it is slow and sappy but we do need a few cool down songs, besides you light up my life you know.

Alyson | New England Living said...

K, I sent you the pic. Wish his hair weren't up in a baseball cap in that pic because he had that floppy hair that I thought was oh-so-cool.

nevadanista said...

I can't believe 'You Light Up My Life' just came on!!! I was actually going to blog about that song a while back, but never got around to it. I even took pictures of the album cover! Oh the drama! I saw that movies at the drive-ins with my parents. Still remember that annoying Dee Dee Con chick very well!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Okay, Sandi, I added your falling song. Isn't that the theme song for Twilight?

hee hee

And I can't wait to post Alyson's hot groping frenchie photo.

Sandi said...

Oh crap- I hope not! that would be so embarrassing to admit that I like ANYTHING about that stinking movie.

Alyson | New England Living said...

Sandi - I'm totally with ya on that stinkin' movie!

nevadanista said...

Ummm, you two are crazy! You men you didn't love that glittered up vampire chest with accompanying emo music and all that awesome acting? You didn't love all those hot vampire stink eye looks from Jasper?

Alyson | New England Living said...

See, I don't even know that much detail about that movie, Nevadanista. I just plain refuse to see it. And, much to my chagrin, my daughter has seen it twice.

I just had a flashback!

Before my first official kiss with husband- he tried at church! :-O We were playing basketball and something happened where I took the ball and ran with it, all the way outside, and he tackled me to the ground. And while I had my head thrown back in laughter he kissed.... my teeth! HAHA!

I say there should be a rule about judging movies that haven't been viewed ALYSON!! :-) hahaha! I think anit-Twilighters and just rebelling against society. :)

I am LoW said...

Anti. Anti.

Not anit.

I am LoW said...

To get you to 125.

Is this your record Crash?

Alyson | New England Living said...

Not into silly romances, so don't want to waste my time.

Sandi said...

Well girls, I did happen to see that stinkin movie and I laughed my head off and thought that Kristina P's review of it was DEAD ON. I thought I was going to get beat up by all the Edward fans in the theater because I just could not quit laughing...or gagging.

nevadanista said...

Well you're a haughty one, aren't you Alyson? ;-)

Hey, was that you sitting next to me laughing yourself silly Sandi? Don't think I've ever laughed so much, and tried to repress so much laughter at a movie in my life. We should go see New Moon together when it comes out. I did a review too (shameless self promotion) that you might like

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Okay, NO MORE Twilight bashing in my comment box.

hee hee

Sandi, you're cruisin' for a bruisin.

Alyson, you're not into silly romance? I guess you just had your fill in real life with all the hot frenchie's of the world.

And Lo, thanks for getting me to my record. Yes, this is the most ever, thanks to Aly, Sandi and April. :)

I've been rummaging through boxes and journals all day trying to find letters and photos. I finally found a photo of my first kiss.

Tonight's post will be a Kodak moment.

Sandi said...

Is that your way of saying that Aly, Sandi and April have no life? Well, April has a pretty good excuse, with her glowing and all, and Aly is probly snowed in and stuff....hmmm. I am pretty much lacking in a life today. Oh well, I did go get a diet coke at sonic and drove around with my friend and laughed at all the white trash parts of town....so see I did get out of the house a little bit! Nevada.....good review and that pic you have of Edward is just soooo icky-as it should be.
Can't wait to see the promised Kodak moment Crash!

Funny Farmer said...

Oh my goodness gracious!! Aren't you girls going on with the over-sharing in here! hahahahahahahahahah

WARNING WARNING WARNING: OLD BOAT GUY IS ADVISED TO STOP READING NOW LEST HE BE WOEFULLY DISAPPOINTED IN HIS THEN ADOLESCENT DAUGHTER.

Ahem.

My first kiss(es) happened in the darkened back of the pep-band bus on the way home from the district basketball playoffs. I was a freshman and he was a junior. He played trumpet.

Perhaps you've heard that trumpet players are good with their lips?

Pure myth. My first kiss was the worst kiss of my life. Even though I'd never done it before, I knew it was a bad one.

We got better though... :D

Hi dad! :waves sheepishly:

The Crash Test Dummy said...

No Sandi, I'm not saying you don't have a life. And if you don't, I'm glad of it, because it's so fun to talk about Smokin' hot Edward with you. But I'm glad you were able to laugh at the poor people today. No day would be complete without a good laugh at the expense of the poor and afflicted.

hee hee

OMGOSH Funny Farmer. How funny! A trumpet player. I've always wondered if the myth was true. Do you have pictures with your trumpet player? Send them PLEASE! And I will post them tonight.
he he he

Sandi said...

Sheeeeesh, this post is going to go on forever if you start posting everyones' 1st kiss pics- I will never be able to tear myself away! But as for now, I will blast your playlist and go make dinner. Gotta say that I keep going back to IZ and playing over the rainbow again and again...I heart it soooo much.
And I'm glad you can see the joy in laughing at the poor and afflicted- it was the 2nd highlight of my day. The first being the Frenchie stories/letter and slandering vampires.

Funny Farmer said...

Um NO Crash, I don't have pics with him -- our relationship was UNDERGROUND, dontcha understand? I was 14 years old and had no business having a boyfriend, let alone a 17 year old boyfriend, LET ALONE be kissing him on the pep band bus!!!

My father will be so mortified. OH MY GOSH! And my MIL too! I knew I shouldn't have said anything!!!

:goes back to delete that last comment:

April said...

Sandi did you sit in front of Family Dollar and play Eastie, not Eastie?

I am LoW said...

I listened to Iz yesterday on here about 100 times and I must say, he and I sing very well together.

I LOVE romance movies, I love love, actually. Love rocks. :-)

WV: coott... pretty close to cooties, no? :)

Sandi said...

hahahahahahah April! I totally forgot about that game. I am going to have to do that very soon. We do have 3 (count them, 3!!) now to choose from you know.
Dinner is done now I must move on to FHE. I've got nothin' any suggestions?

Alyson | New England Living said...

No, I like romance in real life and I like some romance in my entertainment (i.e., movies and books), but I don't like silly ones. I don't like the "I'm going to die without you" ones. I don't like obsessive, teen romance. And, most of the time, I hate romantic comedies.

Okay, I'm a friend/neighbor of the Funny Farmer and she sent me this way... to tell a story. She doesn't even know this story, but told me to get over here and tell about my first kiss.
It was a sunny afternoon in my neighbors back yard. Lance was his name - we were best friends. (Along with Denise - but, I didn't kiss her - ever, really!) The three of us were inseparable. We would play Charlies Angels on our roller skates, Lance always wanted to be Sabrina. Anyway we were playing 'Truth or Dare' - of course I DARE!! Denise dares us to kiss - for FIVE SECONDS and she would count. Okay, do I have to keep my eyes open? No, okay, does he? No, okay. Here we go...
ONE, holy cow - this is crazy!
TWO, what if the Whatcott's come home and catch us in their backyard?
THREE, Lance kinda smells like his house.
FOUR, is five seconds anywhere NEAR eternity... cause it feels like it!!
FIVE, hey, that wasn't so bad... lets try again, but Dude - you need some Chapstick cause your dry lips cut into mine!
I think I was 8 or 9. He also kissed me later that afternoon while I was at the table eating a bowl of bottled peaches.... all the way up my arm and back down again.
He's gay now. I should've guessed it when he was Sabrina. Oh, well.

Funny Farmer said...

Let's try again?!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I knew you'd have a good one. Welcome Sheral! It's always a party over here.

Sheral Wilson said...

I'm only posting again so that I can hit the email thingy... thanks!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

OMGOSH! Sheral Wilson, you are hilarious. That was the best story ever. I hope he didn't realize he was gay when he kissed you. hee hee

J/K Sheral, don't hit me.

Welcome to the road trip!

Okay, guys, I FINALLY got rid of my kids, my husband and my ILs for a few hours. I'm going to work on my post.

Alyson | New England Living said...

Your first kiss turns gay? That would make you question yourself.

J/K Sheral! That's pretty funny!

Mom, I remember you showing me your first kiss when we went through the drive thru at Mcdonalds, he was bald and fat. sorry maybe he was cuter back in the day? Atleast your first kiss isnt a drunk cowboy that still lives with his parents!

So Sandi, did you ask Joan today??? I assume you were with Joan today.....

I am LoW said...

I'm anxiously awaiting the post. I hope it's up here before my bedtime. :)

The Crash Test Dummy said...

OMGOSH! Did you guys see Kute Kasey in my comment box. Did you see her poke her mom in the eye?

Sandi said...

Krap Kasey!! what the what???? you are grounded from Crash's blog do you hear me young lady? And don't you worry missy, your drunk cowboy will be old and fat one day too so there.
p.s. April, Joan's mom had a stroke yesterday and she is in Mesa with her now, but I will definitely have to ask her when all gets back to normal.

April said...

Sandi-Please tell her I'm sorry and I hope her mom gets well soon! Sorry Crash!! But I thought I would use this as a chance to make your comments an even number too.

It makes me so happy to hear that you sang MTTISRing, because we never sing anything interesting at church. I have a whole list of hymns that I desperately WANT to sing, and I wish someone would call me to be hymn picker, because then I'll pick all the ones with 5 flats and none with the numbers 219 in them.

Funny Farmer said...

AMEN MARIKO! No Hymn #134 either.
