My 1st Annual CTD Slumber Party!

Aloha everyone!

Thanks for coming to my first annual CTD all-night/all-day sleep over! Sorry I'm so late. Had to be a mom and wife today.

First thing I need to do is send a shout out to Jami because she's feeling so freakin' ignored, plus she needs some help with her talk on Sunday, so look to it, people! LY, Jami. You're my favorite, (but you didn't hear it from me).

So I keep hearing that the whole mainland is snowed in. The Gads must be angry with you guys. I've been trying to think of a way to lift your morale so I thought I would throw you a party.

I hope you took a long winters nap today and brought your flannel P.J.'s and your fleece blankets.

Okay, so every slumber party has an agenda and the first thing on my agenda is gossip.

Let's start with things that make you go, EWW! Last night in my comment box Alyson told us something about Martha Stewart's daughter, and we all went, EWW!

And then I remembered that I have my own juicy gossip about Martha Steward, straight from the mouth of my friend who lived right next door to her in New York the summer she was on house arrest.

So NOT to be rude and NO offense, but SHE said Martha is really . . . W.I.E.R.D. She said that she has a ginormous barn worth like 20 million hundred dollars with heated floors and everything. And that she only has black animals. PITCH black! If they're not PITCH black, she won't have anything to do with them.

Seriously.

And she won't let the animals out during the day because she doesn't want their fur to get sun bleached. BLESS HER WIERD LITTLE HEART.

So, if you can believe it, she runs her horses at 3 a.m. NO LIE!

I mean, I'm just saying. I mean, it's just funny. You know. How everyone has their little . . . oddities.

Was that rude?

My bad.

Okay time for make-overs. You can do my make-up and I'll do yours. And we can gab and giggle while we're getting glammed out.

So I'll gab about my day first, then you can gab about your day.

My day was super fun because remember Wolfgang, my Austrian student? He started a blog! OMGOSH! I finally had a positive influence on one of my students. But funny thing, he used to point and laugh out loud at me in class every time I mentioned my blog. So can I just publicly point and laugh at him and say nani nani boo boo and I TOLD YOU SO! What a hypocrite! Blogging his brains out like the rest of us.

I LOVE his blog title A Tremendous Life. Austrians are so cute. Especially when they say the word tremendous. You have to go read him because there's nothing more tremendous then seeing Las Vegas for the first time through the eyes of an Austrian.

Oh, and then I fell in love with a gay German. (Talk about a super hopeless romance!! Sue, I'll sell you the pretend blog rights if you want.)

I mean, I know I could change him back to straight, but he can't change me back to single. I've been pretending to be married for 20 years. But I am going to put him on my soul braddah list because even though I'm not an athiest and I'm not gay and I'm not German, he can still finish my sentences for me. (see his comment in my bedtime story post).

So hows about you guys? How was your day?

YAWN! (excuse me)

Okay, it's time for Truth or Dare.

I totally want to play.

I do.

But just let me close my eyes for a second while you tell me about your day.

Not sleeping--just resting my eyes.

Go ahead, gab away . . .

Oh, and can you hand me that fleece blanket?

Sadly, he didn't get the good looking genes in the family.

Is that too mean? Isn't that what slumber parties are like? Mean gossip sessions? Hmmm, I'm wondering if that's just the ones I go to.

Cue the video of the girls wearing nothing by nightshirts, have pillow fights with each other. That's the man version of slumber parties.

My day was AWESOME...NOT!!! I got to go get blood drawn...but before that I had fun getting a package ready for my missionary son. But before that I vented to my sister about how my RS experience was on Sun. Wait...my day is going backwards!

PS-My missionary and the other missionaries in Mada got Jack Johnson music approved....true story.

Hey Girl! I'm still AWAKE!! and just in time to paint your toe nails for you...

could someone pass the buttered popcorn?

Anjeny said...

Wooohooo...I am actually having a slumber party with the dummy..lol.
How do you constantly run into famous people, or people who rub shoulder with famous people?

My day was uneventful so I can't contribute much but I will wait for the truth or dare part.

Oh and about Wolfgang...you didn't by any chance bribe him to start a blog, did you? You know, like how you bribe your boys to read? ahahah.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Hee hee Anjeny. NOOOOO, I didn't bribe him. Anjeny too bad I don't have my quilt yet, we could all snuggle.

Kritta, did you really send it?

YAY and Swirl's here toooooo! PARTAY!

I hope you made your caramel popcorn swirl.

Hi April. So cool your sister is joing the show too. I hate those R.S. days like that. Really, I do. I have vented so many times.

Nevadanista. I'm scared of bloody mary after watching ghost whisperer.

Kristina, do you have any more mean things to say? Bring it on!

Zzzzzzzz. What were you guys saying, again?

LBBlum said...

YIKES that was close! We better put in a chick flick to keep me up.

LBBlum said...

I will laugh if Old Boat Guy comes on complaining we are too loud, and that we need to turn out the lights and goto bed...
tee hee...

hey! why don't we all go over to his blog and TP his comment box!

April said...

I just finished The Notebook with the hubby. He's a good sport! I love that movie! Still waiting for Boy B to get home. He had to work both jobs tonight! Rough day!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh how funny, Swirl. hee hee

I'm getting giggly already. Let's DO go TP Old Boat Guy's blog.

hee hee hee.

And April we'll wait up for your super hot son with you.

What chick flick should we watch?

LBBlum said...

Has anyone seen Mama Mia?
I heard it was good.

April said...

I ran out of toilet paper....at OldBoatGuy's blog that is...

toplog.....not touching that one when I've just run out of tp (no pun intended!)

April said...

Ok, Boy B is home! Tired but home! (Sending him off so we can do girly things.)

The Crash Test Dummy said...

MAMA MIA!!!!!???

Oh how funny! You know that's funny, right? I mean, you were TRYING to be funny, right?

ha ha ha. Cuz if you were trying then that was A GOOD ONE. If not, well, I'm going to have to poke you in the eye.

And toplog. That is super funny if you read Shelle's post yesterday. Or Monday. Her don't you hate it when. hee hee

I'm not lying when I say, we're out of tp too. In two of the bathrooms. Maybe we could just mob the old boat guy. Do you have any toothpaste or shaving cream?

LBBlum said...

Okay- Crash.. .stop poking me in the eye..
why is that so funny?
Something about your MIL

and I'm camped out at Old Boat Guys blog.. you haven't showed..

chicken? Afraid to get caught?

April said...

OI VEY! I read Shelle's blog, and we realized that I go to that SAME store!!!! YIKERS!!!! I have to go sanitize now!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh my goodness, Swirl. Mama Mia!! I never saw the movie, so I can't judge, but I saw the broadway play and was bored to tears. HOWEVER, in my defense, I had just seen Spamalot and Wicked the previus 2 days so MAMA MIA FALLS A LITTLE SHORT in comparison.

But I love Abba.

April, DO YOU LIVE BY THE BLOCKHEAD?

Swirl, I'm on my way over to OBG. I didn't realize you were actually going. You know me. I'm all talk and no show!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Okay, I picked up some spray paint. Thought we could tatoo something on the OBG's boat. Maybe a shaka sign or something.

LBBlum said...

okay- i'm content...
{yawn...}
I guess that was the dare part of the party.

I didn't know Mama Mia was a snoozer.. that is funny!

Okay different movie- I'm cold after tromping through Old Boat Guys foot of snow.. lets have hot cocoa and sTART the show...
before I fall... a..sss.leep...

April said...

Yes I do and by T. Apparently I live in good company! I saw one of her pics and it clicked! hehehehe...I'm full of it for being so late!

moloun-moulin's sister...that's a good movie!

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

OK color me the lamest one at the party, but who is Jack Johnson? I am so out of the loop. Try to avoid the temptation to mock me too much. A little mocking is all good and fun though.
But good news I did bring a 3 pound bag of peanut m&ms.
Also I haven't seen the Mama Mia movie yet. I did see it here in Vegas, so I know about it. And is Colin Firth really in it, because I totally go for him. Especially in leather pants in "What a Girl Wants" Mr. Darcy in leather pants, it just doesn't get better than that. I need to get out more, huh.
And I bet if OBG has 20 year old tuna in his year supply, he would have TP as well, so you could just raid his stash.
I would vote to watch "While You were Sleeping", because I never saw that this holiday season. That movie cracks me up.

Jami said...

OK, I feel better. Now I'm going to go read the rest of your post. :)

April said...

(Whispering in Pat's ear) Don't worry, I had to google Jack Johnson to see what on earth was going on in my son's mission.

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

Good idea about google, I was just reading at shelle's how great google is. Sometimes i forget. duh.
Oh and crash have you ever heard of the musical "A year with frog and toad" it was put together from the books by the writers son, who I can not think of the name of for the life of me. Loeble or something like that. Anywho, if you have not hear the music check it out from the library. it is great and just like the books and your boys might like it as well. all the songs are just the stories put to music. so great.

April said...

It's Lobel....I just googled it! hahahahaha!!!

April said...

The musical is written by Robert and Willie Reale. (googled again)...oh Pat, I have soooo much to teach you!!! ;)

calak- utahn for cowlick

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

ok toad you smarty pants, or are you frog, can I google that?

And now I googled JJ and so now I am in the loop and have learned something new.

Crash, don't you have a camera on your phone? Geez girl get with the stalking skills, K. We are alll counting on you.

Speaking of which, I need to step up my game on Donny and Marie.

Did I ever tell you that someone in my ward was with her grand children at the dentist, and Marie was there with her children at the same time. Isn't that just amazing. Marie Osmond has children with teeth and she takes them to the dentist. Who knew?

word verifier :eugadarg: What the what or what the helk or i don't even know.

April said...

alright...I'm out! It may be 10:30 in your neck of paradise, but it is 1:30 in my heck hole! And I'm getting punchy! And my toes are frost bitten! It was cold over there at OBG's! I got stuck in a snow drift!!!

All I request is that you stay away from the face with the permanent marker. I have to work tomorrow.

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

OArnold Lobel's well-loved characters hop from the page to the stage in Robert and Willie Reale's musical A Year With Frog And Toad. Conceived by Mr. Lobel's daughter, Adrianne Lobel, A Year With Frog And Toad remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.
k here is the synopsis of the play:

See April it was conceived by his daughter, my bad, I thought it was a son.

If you want to hear some of the music go to this link:

Nutty Hampster Chick, google him and then you can oogle him. He's a pretty one.

So...I have LOTS of TP! (Sorry I was late to the party.) We bought Trader Joe's TP which is 100% recycled. EW! 80% post-consumer. EWEW! No chlorine bleach. EWEWEW! So anyway I'm happy to donate it. How do we get it up into the really tall trees?

Where's Heidi? She was supposed to bring the Lindt truffles.

Hey! Did Crash go to sleep? Let's freeze her bra!!!! It'll be so funny when she gets up for work in the morning. HAHAHAHHAHA!

Have you ever tried that thing where you put someone's hand in a really warm bowl of water while they're sleeping?

So...where's the carmel corn?

Martha said...

I kicked J off the computer and emailed you a new bball schedule.

I am so tired. I am not used to working this much. I was meant to stay home and take naps. I worked 10 1/2 hours yesterday. Unreal these students.

You already know I'm the hugest Jack fan in the world. I thought only us Hawaiians knew him, but a few years ago we went to Utah and heard him at the tubing place, what's it called... some with an S, maybe Soldiers or something. Anyway, then when I was in Tennessee they were totally playing an album in a restaurant.

The kids are begging me everyday for a sleepover. I'm almost ready to cave, maybe Friday. If you give your kids some cough medicine they can come. It's W that is the party animal and will never ever sleep. Wait... they have their first game on Sat. They need their rest. Maybe I can talk them into a late night.

Ok, I'm off to bed. This Martha is not quite as crazy as the other Martha.

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

Sorry about my last comment, the part I pasted went inbetween my O and my K, so try and look past that OK.

Jami, yes now I am in the know and can ooggle away.

April, you are not fun banning the permanent marker, but you do have work. All I have is a meeting with the high school counselor to get my son registered into classes for next semester, so who cares what I look like.

On the other hand, I would not like my bra frozen, because I am always cold as it is. I would not however be opposed to having it burnt. You know how missionaries get to burn things throughout their missiont to count down the days. If I have been wearing a bra for the better part of 20 years am at least half way done with the torture? Can I burn it?

Jami said...

OK, well, I guess I'll go to bed too...you're sure you don't want to try the warm water trick? oh...ok. *sigh* Nitey-nite.

Jami said...

Pst! Pst! Are you asleep? *sigh*

Anjeny said...

Crash, how RUDE!!! Everyone is here with frost bitten toes, blue lips with wide awake eyes, ready to play the truth or dare, and you're snuggled up on ur bed snoozing...sheeesh.
You shouldn't have let Swirl talk u into laying down while she polished your toe nails, that's why you are totally out to the world while we are still sitting up waiting for those caramel pop-corn and hot cocoa.
Nutty chick, I think we should use the permanent marker on Crash's face, that'll teach her not to fall asleep on her slumber party mates, what ya say?

Unknown said...

Me Me! I wanna be part of the slumber party. I miss those. Up all night, scary movies, braiding each others hair and loads of popcorn and soda and stuff that generally rots your teeth. Ahh, those were the days.

And Jack Johnson, mmm, any chance he might stop by for this slumber party??

Kritta22 said...

I have to tell you about a funny, one that I am sure I will blog about soon. I have been so Blonely that I printed up like that last 5 posts of yours and took them to work so I could read them. Life is only getting more crazy, but I am addicted to what you say. It's like my daily drug- it gets me a little high. Is that sacrelig?

I am sure that my computer neighbors were wondering about me- I was laughing, out loud. Which is weird (and kind of not good) since I work in an office where "talking" is not permitted during work. Is laughing considered talking? Probably not, but it is generally quiet except for keyboards clicking to their little hearts' content.

I have not forgotten you- although because of my absence I am sure that I was placed on the FBI's missing list for a few weeks, and have lost what little following I had. Hope you visit me soon! Sorry I couldn't attend the sleepover. I was working- as usual. Did anyone get their bra/underwear frozen?

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

Okay...WHy didn't anyone WAKE me up...and why do I have shaving cream all over my face???

So totally rude!

I was just closing my eyes...and then I fell asleep!

I CAN'T BELIEVE i was the one who fell asleep first...even before CRASH fell asleep!

My stomach's old and now my Sleeping clock has turned up its time...I'm SO SAD!

So did you get caught at OLD BOAT GUY's tp-ing and tatoo-ing?

I'm so totally jealous...I am actually a really good spray painter!!!

Can't wait to laugh and point at WolfGang...

I also came to this slumber party because I thought someone was going to give me a MAKEOVER over at BLokThoughts to look all pretty and whatever...but then I fell asleep!

I'm so ashamed!

LY all...even if you did pour shaving cream on my hand and then made me itch my face...I forgive you!

But all pictures need to be confiscated! :)

Oh and BTW...I'm NOT snowed in! It's sunny, just cold and sunny!

Word Verifier--UNDICARP--Did SOMEONE put Carp in my Underwear??? That's blasphemous and may Gad Strike you down...if I find out who it was I'm going to tell their Bishop!!!

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

hahahaha! Kritta was the last one up! lol! That girl...everytime I get her...she is always the last one talking as we each fade away to sleep slumber!

Kritta did you put CARP in my underwear?

TisforTonya said...

How do I always show up so late to the slumber parties???? Maybe it was because I actually slumbered last night... ahh, sweet sleep.

Too bad, because I was at CostCo yesterday and have LOTS and LOTS of TP ;)

I wanna tell you about my day...I went to work. And then I went home and had dinner. Later I watched the Devil Wears Prada which I kind of did not love. Oh, and I saw this boy that has dark curly hair that I kind of want to marry. But he doesn't know that. Shh. Don't tell. But if you ever ask him if he likes me, you HAVE to tell me what he says!!

TheOneTrueSue said...

I love Jack Johnson. Did you ask him to turn your world "upside down"? I can't believe you missed such a great photo op, I carry a camera in my purse for just that reason.
Better luck next time!

Sandi said...

I am not a girl who likes to miss a party, and it appears that I missed a doozy. I hope your makeovers all turned out beautifully and your bras are thawed out and you don't actually need all that TP you used to decorate the OBG. I hope Crash took you to Jack Johnson's brothers house so you could stalk him. I REALLY REALLY hope I make it to the next party- maybe Wolfgang can come too, you know just as a guest speaker or something.

Pat, you have no idea how happy I am to hear there is a Frog and Toad musical. You don't know how many times I've wished that Arnold Lobel had written MORE Frog and Toad. There's nothing better than dysfunctional frogs.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

And Blogging Mama is here too? Everyone, let's go to blogging Mama's place and listen to her new records. They're sooooo cool. I'll meet you there.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Why is everyone sleeping now? You think just because you stayed up all night you can fall asleep?

Okay, I'm going to go defrost my bra. When you guys wake up, let's go raid Blogging Mama's closet. She has the CUTEST clothes.

Melanie! I've always wondered that too! but YES, you do read them all. And YES, I know you're hear and I feeeeeeel your existential angst.

Anjeny said...

So it was the Mama Mia movie that put your in your slumber deep eh? You should never never EVER let Swirl pick out movies for slumber parties.

I always guestion her taste in movie choices..lol. If it isn't witches & warlock or vamphire & wereworlves, then it's something totally lame-oooooo. ahahah.

BTW, OBG is on his way here with something that looks like a stick. You are sooooooo in trouble, nani nani boo boo.

Didn't anyone ever tell you that when you spray paint someone's fence, you shouldn't leave the can there with the receipt in a bag with ur name on it? Tsk tsk tsk.

robin said...

First of all I have to say that if my sister was here in my presence she would be in the biggest of trouble for telling the internet world my nickname. As if it isn't bad enough that my family calls me Toad. I mean really.... TOAD???? My mother thought that Mrs. Toad was an endearing nickname as a child. Really??? Then somehow it evolved to Robbie-Toad and now it is simply Toad. I was not surprised to read in the summary of the Frog and Toad musical that Toad is the grumpy one (simply take a glimpse of me first thing in the morning as I try to hustle 4 boys out of bed in the morning and get them ready for school... not pretty).

Secondly... permanent marker is no joke... at least to the one it is applied to... for the ones applying it it is hysterical. Simply ask my husband and his brothers who - when they were younger thought it would be funny to draw a clown face on their youngest brother while he was sleeping using permanent markers. The next day was Sunday - church day - need I say more???

Barbaloot said...

Yes! We should TOTALLY prank call. But you have to do it.

What if he answers?! AAAH?!

But I can't believe your hatin' on Mamma Mia. Maybe if we had the sing-a-long version you'd stay awake?

Unknown said...

Wow, this is a slumber party (or was, maybe it's over? I don't know.)
Frozen bras even, that made me laugh. I don't think I've ever been to a party that had that...frozen underwear, yes.

Anyone ever sneak out at a slumber party? (Not that I was ever that bad girl ya know, just asking)

Accidentally put whip cream in a hottub?

Anyone?

Nutty Hamster Chick said...

Robin, yes Toad is the grumpy one who doesn't want to get up when spring arrives. But he is also the sweet one who plants seeds and stays up all night to keep them company. And he is the one who listens to Frog tell all of his stories, like the time he was lost in the woods and the large and terrible Frog comes. You know he is terribly large and largely terrible. Anyhoo Frog in all his cunning ends up running around him with his jump rope and tieing him up, so it ends well, but it is scary there for a minute. And Toad is very worried about Frog when he doesn't show up on time for Christmas Eve, and Toad is even prepared to risk life and limb to rescue Frog. So Toad is not really a toad after all because of his large heart.

Barbaloot said...

BloggingMama---I know this girl that slept over once. And she totally snuck out and played spin-the-bottle. Then explored a house that was being built. Breaking and Entering maybe? I mean, I would never...I just know a girl.

Ummm...Crash did you look out the window? Someone totally t.p.ed your house. It's probably those stupid boys. Old boat guy, was that you? Or was it Wolfgang and the gay German?

Helk, where have I been? And it's okay to use helk, right? B/c I rally like it, I rally, rally, rally, do, Katherine Hepburn style, and I know you know I used it in my post today--but how did I miss this? I checked last night! I checked this morning! Then I had to go write a blog post and then throw up and then post a post and then I had to go sit with a friend who is suicidal and has way to much access to narcotics and things that are sharp. No kidding. But I'm back, and while I was gone, the whole world was having a party without me. Sheez! WF: unate. Perfect for a slumber party since it implies that we united and ate all at the same time. Perf!

Cut to the chase Heidi. Did you bring the truffles?

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Alyson, hee hee. I bet the boys DID do it. They're just jealous we had a girls night!

Hi Miss Heidi, yes you can use helk, but you'll get your copyright bustin' papers in the mail soon. hee hee j/k. I hope your friend is okay.

And I'm with Jami, did you bring the truffles or not?

If not, bring them tonight for the retreat.

And don't bother cleaning up the sleeping bags. We'll just pop in other movie and play some truth or dare tonight!

Hey, I just decided I'm not going to post again until I reach 100 comments. Even if I have to do it myself. Hee hee. Come on, people. Help me make blog history, here.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

I need a push.

You guys, I do not have time to read 92 comments. Can't you just wait to start the party when I get here?
When JJ's brother's son was in my class last year, he informed me that he'd be at the all weekend concert, the famous one, and I was like, "WHY?! You can't miss my class for some concert!?" It took me like two weeks to figure out why he would be there.
JJ's brother is totally good looking, even if it's a bad picture. The only thing that really freaks me out is how all the guys in the family are complete carbon copies of one another. I mean, poor mom. She's probably the least recognizable part of the family (is that rude? My bad), but I've never met her, so I may be wrong.
My husband says that JJ actually looks different than he would naturally due to a car accident he had in high school.

Sorry about the truffles. I dumped 'em all in my purse as I ran out the door to go be with my friend b/c I didn't expect her to crawl out of her emotional hole to feed me. And then I ate them. I asked if she wanted any but she said no. Was that rude of me to eat them in front of her? Esp since they were meant (apparently) for all of you?! And, guess what? I am finally caught up with my blog post reading for the first time since Friday, oh, gee, it's friday again tomorrow, huh?

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Mariko, stop being so responsible and come party. We're having a retreat tonight, but DON'T come because we're going to do group therapy and I know how you love group therapy. ;)

Okay, you're right, he is good looking, but shorter that Jack. He has beautiful curly hair. But they both have the exact same face.

The first time I saw him was at a parent night and I looked at him and I was like, what the helk? Is that Jack Johnson?

The mom kinda looks like them don't you think? And the dad too. She is super nice, especially when you're caught under the bleachers with her in the rain.

The Crash Test Dummy said...

Oh Heidi, you're getting much to big for your britches. Bless your heart and not to be rude. And I don't mean because you're eating truffles in front of your suicidal friends.

Anjeny said...

Crash, why are you cleaning up? I thought this party is still going on?
Well, now that you got all that stuff off ur face, for tonight, can we go "egg" Martha's blog? She bailed out really early last night.
I still want to shave cream Swirl's face...her bra didn't freeze long enough..lol. Oh and don't forget, Swirl is not to pick out movies for tonight..ahah.

WHAT?!!?!? No truffles?? Oh...I don't need them anyways! Do truffles melt around radioactive matter? hmmmm

Not a very comfortable day at work going bra-less, I'll tell you that! I got quite the stares! (And not all good!) I'm pretty sure it has thawed out by now tho!
